There is one thing I think that is stopping world peace from ever happening, and that's "human nature". We all want to 1-up each other, and we surly can't have peace under those conditions. Think about it. The modern world as we know it has all but eliminated human(labor) slavery and we still can't make peace with each other. Even in spite of having machines doing most of the slave work for us.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I don't think we've even come close to eliminating slavery.

That's why I was making a reference to "labor" slavery. which has been almost eliminated. but other forms of slavery, like sexual slavery, still run rampant.

I'd argue that wage slavery is a form of "labor" slavery, though it's not quite as overt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wage_slavery

Violence will end when everyone respects, and tolerates each other.

So each and every person who does not tolerate, and respect, his fellow man must be...slaughtered like a pig!

base 8 is perfect as 10 divides by 2 exponentially, 10, 4, 2, 1, 0.4, 0.2, 0.1 etc
in base 12 10 only divides equally twice, then come fractions again, 10, 6, 3, 1.6, 0.9 (i can't work it out after that)[/quote]
I hadn't thought about that. I think day-to-day stuff would be easier in base 12. I don't think I want to divide by 8 as often as I want to divide by 3.

To paraphrase Diderot, "...until the last politician has been strangled with the entrails of the last priest."

Beauty pageant contestants quit mentioning it in their interviews.

Just in case a reader is curious about the wording of the idea RS referred to------>"Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." ~Denis Diderot (France)

Thanks, RS!

Further on that note, "...if God really existed, it would be necessary to abolish Him." -Mikhail Bakunin

I've always thought that was a very profound, and true quote, ever since I first heard KMFDM sample it in the song "Stray Bullet".

World peace will happen when everyone is dead, that's the way I see it.
