I still can't tie my laces properly, they keep coming undone. So I don't bother, I wear shoes without laces.

(and I'm 18-how embarrassing LOL)

I forced myself to learn how when I was 9 and in grade five, because I was tired of being bullied for wearing velcro.

Even though I can tie my shoes, I hate wearing shoes with laces. Why? Because they're constantly coming undone. But being a girl, I have many alternatives to choose from. Boots, mules, sandals, flats, mary-janes, and so much more!

Well, HEY, Men DO have things like loafers. At this point, I am just wearing real nice dress shoes that lace up.

Mastered it by aged 10 but before then I tied them up any old how, whether it be a square or ganny knot or anything. I could tie neck ties by the age of 8.

I can't remember, but I know it took me a while to learn. I remember not being able to make them tight enough and they would always come undone.

Now days I just keep them tied and slip my shoes on and off, so I hardly ever tie them anymore.

When I was 10.
My father tried to teach me when I was 6 or 7, but I couldn't follow his instruction. One day in grade 5, I glanced at a school friend as she tied hers and I figured out how to tie them just by watching her. It was a very different way to the way my dad tied his and I've done it my friends way ever since. I double knot my laces to be sure.

I am 31 and still can't tie them properly..and it is my pet peeve when people tell me my laces are undone..lucky for me it doesn't happen anymore since the only shoes I will wear now are the crocs rubber clogs..
But I do remember being the last kid to know how in my class and that was when i was about 8--I think...(when I was in third grade the first time 'round)...(i repeated the 3rd grade due to emotional immaturity)

5th grade, and I'm still not very good at it. I've had one pair of velcro shoes, I loved those things, wore them until they fell off of my feet, and was never able to find another pair.

Wow goodness, I feel so much better now. Lot of you learned how to tie your shoes late and few of you still don't know how and you're AS? Now I see lot of you are PDD, Not AS. I don't feel so much left out anymore. I feel a lot better about myself.

Am still unable to tie at twenty three years old,so am get help with tieing the laced ones, and wear velcro based trainers and sandles at all other times,it is hard to find a pair of velcro trainers that are not a plain black or white colour though, why do they have to be dull looking when the laced ones can be found in all types of colours.
