Can anybody explain a logical justification for the popular phrase "I could care less" ? Surely it should be "I couldn't care less" ? If somebody explains the "could" version satisfactorily, I will give up my hostility to it.
I think it's just pure laziness. I've heard lots of mistakes (I can't think of any, right-this-minute) where people speak an abbreviated version, of something. When people say "I could care less", I say "Go 'head"----they never get it!! LOL

Regarding the OP: Yes, I notice every little mistake in print sources----and, it used to drive me crazy, as well----but, I don't let it bother me, that much, anymore.

(I want to mention, because I don't think English is this person's first language, that "you all" is shortened to "y'all", not "ya'll" (tons of other people do this, too). The apostrophe, as I'm sure you know, is to signify that a letter(s) is / are missing----there is no letter missing between "a" and "l"----but, there ARE letters missing, between "y" and "a".)
