I notice typos in reading articles and blogs on the internet, the newspaper, and correcting my comments and posts I submit to articles and my posts on facebook. Schoolteachers (whether they are autistic or NTs) also notice typos too. Both NTs and people on the ASD spectrum can notice typos, I just think people with ASD (on the high functioning end of the spectrum) are more analytic on those little details.

Similarly at work, when writing audit reports, people insist on "siting" documents when they should "sight" the documents.

Is this a sort-of sarcasm----meaning people misspell "citing", and if they were to sight the documents, they would catch it?

Can anybody explain a logical justification for the popular phrase "I could care less" ? Surely it should be "I couldn't care less" ? If somebody explains the "could" version satisfactorily, I will give up my hostility to it.

I think it's just pure laziness. I've heard lots of mistakes (I can't think of any, right-this-minute) where people speak an abbreviated version, of something. When people say "I could care less", I say "Go 'head"----they never get it!! LOL

Regarding the OP: Yes, I notice every little mistake in print sources----and, it used to drive me crazy, as well----but, I don't let it bother me, that much, anymore.

(I want to mention, because I don't think English is this person's first language, that "you all" is shortened to "y'all", not "ya'll" (tons of other people do this, too). The apostrophe, as I'm sure you know, is to signify that a letter(s) is / are missing----there is no letter missing between "a" and "l"----but, there ARE letters missing, between "y" and "a".)

I might say "Could you? That's a relief, I thought you didn't give a damn." But they wouldn't get that either.

I notice typos all the time, both in print and online. It seems quite common despite the existence of spell checks, as these don't recognize words that are spelled correctly but used on the wrong context. I really think people who write articles online should be able to know better.

It also frustrates me no end when I make a mistake on my keyboard and neglect to notice it until later. But as I write a (fairly) regular blog of my own, I make every effort to use spelling and grammar correctly.
