I actually looked and she said she is aspie in her very first post.
It wasn't here it was another thread. I probably read it wrong though.
You wrote in a way that probably made more sense when you said you think people mix up autism and narcissism. I wish I could get things across better.
I see NTs saying things in less than tactful ways and misunderstanding social intentions all the time. Though it doesn't seem to take them as long to guess what's going on and act.
I am sad for the arguing going on, B19 writes thoughtful, kind posts and we shouldn't look to anyone to never say anything offensive, that isn't possible unless we only talk to clones of ourself.
I meant I looked in her profile and looked thorough her posts on the very last page where she did her pilot post.
Yes there are lot of similarities between narcissism and autism which would be the reason why an aspie might get misdiagnosed as narcissism but the scary thing I read is that covert narcissism can be misdiagnosed as Asperger's because of some of the overlaps and due to lot of doctors not knowing about it because it's not recognized as a medical term. A narc might come across AS and think it explains their lack of empathy and their social awkwardness and why they don't feel comfortable in situations and why they feel so invisible and why they are so emotional and why they have not had a relationship or why they hurt peoples feelings and say mean things. I remember my mom telling me my ex knew nothing about AS and didn't even know what it is. Also he thought it explained why he didn't really care about feelings in other people and thought feelings should never be considered and he didn't care if he was considered a cold hearted manager and he didn't care about perspectives so s**t better not happen you know. I am sure it's possible one can have both. Even I heard from a blogger who had realized she was actually a covert narcissist than aspie that some other narcs on a forum thought they had it too before realizing they were a narcissist. That is why I suggested to elkclan and the OP to look it up.
