Your own description suggests me you are NOT aspie, anyway, I´m absolutely sure my oppinion about it, is completely irrelevant. I will never look for a kind of medical diagnosis telling me I am aspie or not, so I suggest you not to look for it, in fact, psys knows less tnan us about aspies, what leads to a great point, that no matter what peope will think, you will believe you are aspie or not, I´m very sure you will be, very soon, able to decide about it, but before deciding it, enjoy aspie people, and wellcome! :)

Hi, kerryt84. Whether or not you are diagnosed with AS (good luck with your GP!), you should definitely consider looking into Social Anxiety Disorder, as many of your symptoms seem consistent with that condition. I have severe Social Anxiety Disorder myself, and I've found therapy and medication to be very helpful (although you said you were already on medication for depression previously). Anyway, just something to think about.

I have never seen this here. And who would want to be an aspie pretender anyway?

I am not a long time member, but I can assure you it did happen.

About who would want to be an aspie pretender, that's a difficult question to answer, because we should be then dealing with NTs who felt like they were AS, but by being AS we shouldn't be able to understand NTs. Also, we should at first take what others say as true, so how a thread like that came to be made in this forum is really suspect.
