A whole lot of "what ifs." There's no sense in worrying about all of the "maybes" in life. What if he does... but what if he doesn't? Then you'll have worked yourself up into a frenzy over nothing. And looked silly in the process. So calm down. You can't change anything by worrying about it anyway, right?

That's true. So cops and the school administration need to act as if the threat is real and track down the person. Even if he is only making an empty threat (which is likely the case), the fact that he is disturbed enough to make the threat means he should probably have therapy of some kind.

Also, do you know for a fact that the principal sent this email? Could it be a spammer has broken into your school's server?

it sounds scary, but if you don't try to fight back, then they can kill you and your friends.

a bullet is something that you can't run from... the only way to protect yourself from it is to stop it from being fired in the first place.

but i cant i just cant because i go to the middle school.

Squier,

Do everyone a favor and RELAX! I know you may be afraid, etc... Frankly, you are doing EXACTLY what those idiots want. It was probably a prank, and may have been done just to scare the girls, or see how far they would go. In any event, YOU can't do anything, so why worry?

Steve

But i cant relax because i have freinds their and nothing says this person wont do this and even worse wat if he comes to the middle school where i go

MAN, is this ironic! I just told a person today how I cheated! I had 3 burgers this week. The whole 2+ years before that I had basically NONE! Anyway, I mentioned that was because I didn't want to get BSE. He flew off the handle implying I was unreasonable, etc... HEY, I ATE them!

Still, RELAX! As he told me, YOU CAN'T LIVE YOUR LIFE IN FEAR!

Steve

Oh, nonsense. Kids do it all the time. Threaten to do this and that, and never follow through. They were doing it when I was a kid.

When I was in high school, we used to have bomb threats called in all the time. We would all have to evacuate the school and it was a real pain, but they never found anything. Try to relax, Squier.

maybe american schools should have armed security guards...

They don't work.

In one school shooting last year, the armed security guard was shot while standing at the metal detector. The gunman than walked through the metal detector and shot a bunch more people.

Yeah, we used to call those in from the payphones right outside the principal's office. We also pulled fire alarms quite a bit, until they put dye packs in them. Then we threw baseballs at them. The number of fake bomb threats/fire alarms seemed to peak during testing season. That was back in the good ol' days when mischief != terrorism.

Seriously. My husband pointed this out. Cho was telling people to line up so he could shoot them. F*ck that. If you line up, you're dead. If an entire classroom of people is told to line up - I figure 20-30 ppl - and all 20-30 ppl decided to kick the gunman's a**, I suspect that fewer people than 20-30 will die. I believe that is a reasonable conclusion, and therefore favor a**kicking as better than complying with shooter instructions.

i didnt know he did this. i thought he walked around the halls shooting ppl who stepped out like targets.

Yeah, it was reported initially. It's come out in a few reports after that. I don't know if it's ever been confirmed.

squier! i think you're having a panic attack. and for very good reasons, too. but you mustn't equate your current fear with reality. it is the essence of a panic attack to do so, and the adrenals kick in, and it spirals on and on and on.

so, i would suggest, if you would try this? put the issue aside for one hour. play your guitar. concentrate mightily on it. deep breathely (an old joke, sorry).

of course, i'm not saying to go away! it's just that you sound like me when i panic, and that's what i have to do with it. and after an hour or so, i'm tired but calmer and then i can make decisions.

it's serious stuff you're facing, i'm not making light of it at all. but first take care of yourself.

It won't happen. When they give the exact date of what they're going to do you know it's BS.

You need not be scared. Barking dogs don't bite. Someone really planning to do such a thing would not announce it. Whoever wrote that stuff in that bathroom did so in order to freak people out. (In order words, don't make that person happy by freaking out.)

So it was you! LOL :D

We only really minded if it was hot outside or raining. Otherwise, it was sometimes nice to get a break from class.

There were empty bomb threats and similar stuff when I went to high school. The reason its on the news is probably because of VA tech, people are still afraid, it only happened a short time ago.

That's scary! Any threat like that is worth taking seriously.
