I have always wanted to try a weighted blanket.

I used a weighted blanket at my aunt's house once and I didn't like it one bit. I don't know, it just felt annoying since it was harder for me to get comfy. However, I do like a nice thick blanket, even in the heat of the summer. I mean, even if it's 90 degrees out, I won't even use a sheet or a light blanket. It has to be the thick one.

Read this thread first about a couple days ago and had an 'aha' moment or two. I always have to have a covering, even if it's unbearably hot - then it's a sheet - but if I don't feel something it seems so wrong... And like a previous poster I can't do the nightclothes thing either - I end up being so frustrated I end up hurling them off anyway...

I love it when my friend's dog plops beside / on top of me in those rare instances that she sleeps with me; that's when I relax the most...

Looked into the weighted blanket thing, found a site/company that I feel comfortable with and am ordering one of those suckers! I have not had a decent night's sleep in years and I think this may be the answer for me! Thanks, guys!

Maybe this is why I'm such an insomniac.

I used to sleep completely enclosed in a heavy blanket with layered clothing. I could NOT sleep without a blanket no matter how hot it was outside. I HAD to have a blanket, I still do.

I usually find comfort in heavy blankets.

I have this blanket that my mother gave me. It's an old blanket that was made somewhere around 1905 and had been added onto a couple of times since then. And I swear to god that thing weighns AT LEAST 15 pounds.

And just let me say that in the winter, that blanket is pure nirvana.
