Cats do exhibit a lot of aspie traits, but for them that's typical for a cat, thus making aspiness neurotypical for cats.

Believe it or not, cats and dogs get along rather well. One of mine is actually in the habit of making friendly with them. The dog always just stands there looking awkward. It's funny.

No, cats are not aspergians. They're cats.

Well, actually it's the other way around: all aspies have cat syndrome.

Yeah, my dog gets along with my current cat, and with a previous cat as well.

Interestingly, my cat doesn’t show traits I’d find familiar to AS... but my dog shows a few.

I bought that book today actually, shared it with my housemates so that they may perhaps get a better idea of AS.

Cats rock. 8)

I'm a dog person, but I love my cat very much.

Even if she does drive me up the wall asking for food and milk every fifteen minutes :)

We have a plaque up in our house that says, "A cat makes a house a home." So true! I'm counting down the days until I move apartments and can adopt a cat. To pass the time, I spend every weekend playing with the cats at the animal shelter.

Actually, my family has speculated that our current cat might have some type of kitty autism! She definitely appears to have some unusual problems with sensory integration, and her interaction style is quite a bit different from that of any other cat we've had. We refer to her as "our little autistic kitty." She also appears to have some mild gross motor coordination problems that she's had since kittenhood.
