Why is there so little info for adults with Asperger's?

As someone only recently diagnosed I view my colleagues working with folks in the spectrum differently. (58 days 5 hours and 39 minutes ago)

My wife has been looking for Aspie-Anon and found nothing but parental support.

Been bouncing in and out of it all day. Love little gems I keep finding like this one:

I've seen a lot of debates about this. And I thought this is a well reasoned response within HFA. I am not sure it would applie to those with more severe symptoms/non-verbal and or completely overwhelmed in sensory issues that living just makes life hell.

Here is something that I got just a bit of extra insight on myself by way of the following. I'd been putting together that inconsistencies drives me nuts. I mean really disrupts my thought processes if they pile up enough.....

Now, the example is specific. But I think it fits almost all my interactions. There are times I am completely flummoxed by a change in behaviour. And if I can't dope it out, it does start an anxiety feedback loop in that I start to struggle to understand what is happening, but that takes away from what I am trying to process and then I get anxious about that which makes me struggle harder as things slip though the cracks and the anxiety builds on and on.

That doesn't lead to a meltdown, but near outbursts or negative shutdowns do happen in all the wrong places. Like at work.....

Make one.

I'm guessing that seed has been planted in the past or just now by you.
That's how the original Al-Anon started.

It will or has started slow and grow. That's my prediction.

Good therapist and those that do couples counseling in this field are very busy.

Did some of you on WP reach a point where you used it less and then came back? Perhaps that should be a separate thread. :?:
