I have heard so much of this "You weren't supposed to be able to do this," nonsense.

Agreed, this sort of stuff is for the Off the wall and Random forums...

On another board (not an Aspie board, but one with a lot of Aspies on it), someone once told me that I couldn't be an Aspie because I like science fiction, and Aspies don't read fiction.

That's bullcrap.

Mind you, science fiction is the only fiction I read, almost... and I read a lot of non-fiction. I also prefer SF that gets into the nuts-and-bolts of the tech, and whose stories are plot-driven (as opposed to character-driven). Isaac Asimov is my favourite SF author.

And Isaac might have been an Aspie (?)

Just making sure. :D

Do most Aspies prefer science fiction? It seems that way... or am I just imagining it?

For me sci-fi is the only fiction I really enjoy.

Might i ask, who the hell are you? And who the hell do you think you are, barging up in the middle of everything shouting your screwy misconceptions for the whole planet to hear? I won't even bother being polite this time, as you don't even deserve that. GO TO HELL.

I think trents point is that this assumption is wrong. How about we talk about this issue instead of attacking him?

I'm not a huge reader in general being I'm more visual based, but I do prefer psychological things because as much as I like science, I like science that.. makes sense. I haven't read anything fiction other than fanfictions in a long time, I prefer movies for imaginative off shooting.
