I freak out when people stare at me, especially when I can't get away from them. It's not just people, it's cameras, too. It's an art and a respectable hobby, but a guy with a camera stood in the middle of the sidewalk filming me walking towards him in strong sunlight. Where does he get the idea that he's not being rude? Not to mention giving me the heebee-jeebies. So I ducked into a store, and he waited! Every time I peeked, he was still there, camera held in "shoot" position. After 20 minutes I ran out of the store and across the street into deep shade. Why do people think it's acceptable to photograph or film complete strangers? I mean, out in the open like that, straight into my face.
