The proper title should be something such as "How do elderly people treat you?"

Everyone makes noises.

Oh and for the record, not everyone who is classed as disabled is a dependent.

I like old people. I don't like babies and small children.

Some old people really do need to relaize that the world is not there to wait on them hand andfoot just because they are a senior citizen. Yes, I've unfortunaly met some like that.

To those who've said Aspergers is a disability, you've misunderstood my point. I don't discriminate against those able to take care of themselves, as most Aspies are able to. ONLY people who cannot live without the help of meds or of other people, and if that includes some aspies too, then so be it.

I tend to dislike younger people more, actually.
I find the elderly more mature, more developed, more open to my perspectives, more able to bring me back down to reality in a way that suits me. Less judging, less immature and stupid, less a lot of things. I've always gotten along better with those older than I.

While an older person who's a leech, senile, depressed, clingy, ect is annoying so are the teenie-bopper trend followers - just as useless and usually more annoying because they can actually follow you where as if you're around an older one you can walk away, they usually wont follow you.

Why?
If people are prepared to help them then why shouldn't they receive that help? It's not their fault they are disabled.

I don't understand why those that need help are less worthy of living than those that do not? And everyone lives with the help of meds, from penicillin to insulin, we all at some point need help.

You are young, Ramsus, and your views are extreme at the moment. I hope you will moderate them with time.

I love most old people that I know well, especially my mother in law who has just been placed in hostel living and is losing her memory and knows it. But I don't enjoy walking past some of the very old who have completely lost it. You are right about smells etc.

My generation is the next in line to be the oldies. As long as I can contribute to my family and friends I will stay around. But our family has made a commitment to euthenasia and when I can no longer talk to them and listen, I will choose to die. Or hope my family remember our pact.

I think a fundamental to life is the way that humans overcome hardship. I see that all the time on WP. Christopher Reeve and Hawkins are two who show the triumph of the human spirit.

some old ppl r very smart. they should be respected for how much experience in life they have had, and what advise they can offer. i know a lot of ppl like to pretend they live in a different world then their parents, but thats really not true.

Technically we all need "other people" to live. Check this out...

Who gives you a job? Other people
Who cultivates the food you eat? Other people
Who built your house? Other people
Who provides your electricity? Other people
Who provides your indoor plumbing? Other people

So you hate everyone (including yourself) except for people who live in the forest and hunt, gather, and build their own shelter with their bare hands?

That's irrelevant, and if necessary, a healthy human could fend for his own in the wild. You know should know what I mean in terms of dependancy, and also realize I'm speaking about life long cases, consisting of being unable to walk, eat, etc, without the dependancy of another person to get you through your day again and again.

What about the ones that have a remedial job, are they less unworthy to you?
