I found the some of the questions difficult. I have no idea if:
- I use my hands and arms to gesture while talking to people
- I have a relaxed/tense body position when I talk to people
- I frown/smile while talking to people
- My voice is monotonous or dull when I talk to people

The "touching" thing was interesting as well. I will tap people, if I want to get their attention. Otherwise, I avoid touching.

I had trouble with these things as well.

It seems I join the majority, got a 65.
I too am confused about the reason for some of the follow-up questions, I'd like to see what they do with this research.

I found a lot of questions to be redundant.

As others have said, some of these questions were difficult for me to answer because I have very little idea if I do some of these things or not. I got a 90, which is surprisingly high for an autistic. Apparently still lower than the average though!

I got a score of "69" on the test, don't know if that's good or not...

I got the same as you 69. It says men are 93.8 and women are 102.0. I guess that makes me either sub human or more non binary then I think I am :p

I went back and took it again and this time I used the research thing for more details(which some of them were kinda pointless). The second time around I got a 64 including all the research stuff.

Your score for nonverbal immediacy was 64. Higher scores indicate more nonverbal immediacy. The average score for men was 93.8 and the average score for women was 102.0 in a sample of college students (Richmond et. al., 2003).

Greater levels of nonverbal immediacy are generally seen as positive and are statistically associated with a variety of positive outcomes. For example, individuals who show higher levels of nonverbal immediacy get more dates at speed dating events (Houser et. al., 2008) and students of teachers who exhibit more nonverbal immediacy learn more (Rodríguez et. al., 1996).

When the vast majority of people use the terms "men" and "women," they mean adult males and adult females, respectively. It's a sexual differentiation that has nothing to do with "non-binary."

I couldn't even do the test because the questions were too complicated. I have no idea if I do those things. It's like testing you to see how self aware you are.

I scored a 58. A lot of the questions were asking the same thing except with different wording which was annoying.

I got 98. So it would appear that I am even more affable then the average NT man (average score 93). A veritable used car salesmen!

I wish!

Though if I were female ( average score 102) I would be a tiny bit sub par. But even then not by much.

Maybe I was unconsciously picking the option that I know that you are supposed to do, and not what I actually do. Its hard to know what you actually do in the kind of things they are asking about.

But I am over a certain age. Even ASD folks live and learn after a while. When I was younger I would have scored dramatically lower because it was harder to look folks in the eye years ago, and back when I was a teen I did talk in a monotone a lot.

75, which is good to know, I did practice these things in many conversations... I don't do many of them naturally though, it's more like realising: 'oh, now I pat the arm maybe?'. Not sure how to reply to the voice or facial expression related questions - how would I know, really? So... I don't think this test is well designed as a self-assessment.
