You Tube Apergers Girl
I just tried one of the videos of the girl from the op called "Q&A- My Aspergers, Celebrity Crushes & YouTube Inspiration." I can see why some people think she comes across as a very confident communicator, BUT in the first 60 seconds of the video I spotted 5 glitches that indicate that it has been cut or edited together. There are lots more as the video goes on. So this is not something that she has done as it looks straight away, she has made mistakes or lost her train of thought or whatever and then just put it all together afterwards. You also don't know how many times she rehearsed it before she filmed it.
So please don't compare yourself to how she appears in the video, I'm sure she probably comes across very different in real life. It's also different just talking about your own special interests to a camera than in a group of people, I imagine she's one of those people that gets told to shut up a lot!
I've seen of couple of AnMish's videos too, I really like her (which means I can relate to her). I like the speed of her voice and the straightforward way she thinks, and the way she plays with her hair.
The other person I really like is Baby Robot. Partly because I think she's soooo pretty! and partly because well... doesn't everyone love a good robot? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBjC1d8Urxg

Like nearly all youtube videos, surely? TV episodes and films also have many cuts. Things filmed live usually have things go wrong.
She's able to do that, even if it is the case that it's with rehearsal and only on video (or maybe she can speak like that naturally). Some of us can't, no matter what. Can I not make that comparison?
Absolutely. Amythest Schaber (https://www.youtube.com/user/neurowonderful) comes across as clear and confident, and has pointed out that social scripting is used to create the videos. Amythest has said that face to face conversation is very different.

She said she heavily edits her videos to edit out the silent spaces where she is processing her thoughts.
Here is one of her unedited videos.
It goes beyond performing, though. Communication in general has been the thing I've struggled with the most my entire life, something that really gets in the way, something very obvious given my speech isn't fluent like that no matter what I do or how hard I try. I really don't see how someone who is a strong communicator has the same disorder as me - it's like the complete opposite. I think this is more than personality going on, but I know nothing so maybe it is.
But is she really a strong communicator? She may seem like that to you, because of the language thing, that you obviously struggle more with than her, but her eyes are all over the place, and non-autistic people often react badly to that. And she's really really hyper.
I freak out about these discussions, because I imagine this girl might really have more trouble than is visible in her videos. And then if she's having a bad day and shows up at WP for support, and then finds threads speculating that she's not really autistic.....it's not very supportive.

I'm not speculating that she's not really autistic, I'm speculating that maybe what we currently know as autism may be different conditions with similar symptoms in the future.

Yeah i agree, I only posted this link because i think its great that she is on you tube showing that us Aspies are just as human as the rest of the world. I think she is amazing to be able to post on you tube and has probably had a lot to cope with in life. We don't know her and i don't think we should be speculating weather or not she is autistic.

I agree with that a lot. For example, I think that whether one is very sound sensitive or not will have a huge impact on quality of life and how one relates to other people. Sound sensitivity is much more isolating than light sensitivity, which can be ameliorated simply by staying inside a lot or wearing sunglasses. So, I guess it has a similar cause, but is much more debilitating. I'm pretty all right now, since it's the middle of winter. Come May, life is a lot more stressful.
This triad of impairments....isn't it rather common that one person will find that their biggest struggle is executive functioning, for another it's social communication, and for yet another person it'll be sensitivities that is the bane of their existence?

I find that kind of ironic since we're going the other way around in terms of diagnosing autism. Are we even 100% sure which way is which on the spectrum?

I honestly watched the OP's video and she just seemed like an average 16 year old English girl to me. And her eyes didn't look that weird. I've seen other autistic people's videos that immediately made me go "Yep I see it", but with her I was stuck for a good five minutes. I can't even catch any subtle symptoms.

What an amazing confident young lady
I find her somewhat irritating, but she's definitely confident.
I find her very hard to relate to, but it's because her and I are into things that are completely different. I also speak in a way that's more formal due to the fact that I find the typical style of speech, such as hers hard for me to follow.

Yes, but she seemed to have a lot more of them than is usual.

Sorry, I did not explain that well. I don't think there is a problem with saying "This person is better at talking then I am." The problem comes when people start making judgements based on that comparison. I got the impression (possibly the wrong one) that some people were thinking "I am useless because I am not as good at talking as she is," or that some were thinking "she cannot really be autistic because she talks so well." She reminds me a lot of some of the teenagers with Aspergers that I used to work with, prone to very excitable moods and going on and on about their favourite things. She probably gets told to shut a lot by her NT peers!
I also like Amythest Schaber, she explained a lot of things well that I was unsure about.
