It's not an autism thing at all, it's very common to not read things fully - like how pretty much nobody reads the ToS before downloading things.

A lot of people with autism doing something doesn't mean they're doing it because they're autistic, it may just be because they're people. That's what I think is going on - they're displaying a common human trait, their autism isn't causing this.

Sounds about right. I've woken up in a different mood this morning so not an issue today

I interpret it as what have you been doing recently or what are you multitasking on. As in, I'm on a break from trying to tune a ukulele by ear to browse forums. :P

If its asked here on WP (or on most social websites) its just to give you an excuse talk about your life at the moment ( like what hobbies you're into).

Possibly, due to context but I would assume that most people would ask "what hobbies are you into?" rather than "what are you doing at the moment?". That to me, makes no sense whatsoever.

Maybe I'm taking the question too literaly but I agree.

ONE person agreed with the OP. Okay its two people against seven billion, instead of one against seven billion. BFD!

Obviously I was just using "hobbies" as an example. I mean more generally- whats on your mind at the moment: "i am trying to survive the power outage", "I am fixing dinner for the kids"-"trying to win at Grand theft auto"- "trying translate ancient Babylonian cuniform tablets" etc. On a site like this it would be an invitation to give a little slice of your life.

But I do realize that there is a minority of folks who are either (a) dumb as a box of hammers, or are (b) maliciously sarcastic as s**t, who would take the question SO literally that they would respond to "what are you doing this moment?" by saying "answering you by typing this text". Not saying that the OP is either. But in person folks would kick him in the balls for responding like that because he would be acting like he was either A, or B. And most of us live and learn, and learn to avoid acting like we are either A or B to survive.

Seeing as I'm pretty bad at sarcasm, I guess that I'm as dumb as a box of hammers then.

"What are you doing at the moment?" "Trying to dig up an answer".

I think this is an interesting exercise in how literally some autistics take things. To me at the moment meant quite literally just that, with the inevitable answer being, replying to this thread. When some people wrote things other than that like, shopping or painting their house or whatever, my thought was, that is not what the question is asking. Or even if you are on your phone, how can you paint a house and be on WP at the same time? That's my autistic brain at its finest.

I am eating pretzels, because I crave the salt, and it is very brave because I only have 3 teeth.
