I am one of those people who can lose weight easily and in a relatively short time by removing most carbohydrates from my diet and not snacking. Fruits, vegetables, chicken. I don't even really need exercise, though it feels better. Life with little or know pasta, rice and bread isn't great, but the weight loss makes up for it. Try Adkins or WW.

Exercise never helps me, unless I do excessive exercise probably, but I'm really not into all that. But when I walk to work I walk really fast, for 2 miles (some uphill), and I have an active job at work where I'm on my feet carrying heavy buckets and mops - and sometimes I feel like my feet don't touch the ground. But I still never even lost a pound. Yes I wasn't dieting but I still wasn't eating that much and I thought walking fast and doing all that active work every day would help me lose weight a bit. Yet as soon as I started to diet I began losing the pounds fairly quickly, even without exercising.

It's weird how they say cutting pasta out your diet will help you lose weight, yet in most diet books it often has pasta meals. I know cutting out chocolate and coke helps lose a lot of weight. While I'm addicted to coke and hate diet coke, I can still live without chocolate, but pasta is a meal sort of food so it can be hard to dodge pasta when preparing meals. Pasta goes down with a lot of different foods and you can make a lot of different meals with pasta without feeling like you're eating the same thing every day.

Still, at least my immune system is strong and healthy, because although my diet has gone out the window I'm still eating vegetables and fruit every day and having chicken and fish. It's just the soda drinks I'm addicted to, so delicious. I am not a lover of hot drink so please don't advise me to drink tea.

Hi,

I weigh 90 kilograms so i am fat and i want to lose weight. But since i have mild autism and social anxiety its hard for me to go to gym. Because it's a social environment and i get anxious in these places. I was thin when i was a little kid but i started to gain weight then. I dont know if it's related to the pills i take (i am using prozac concerta and abizol pills).

What should i do to lose weight? Should i go to gym? Should i stop using pills? Or should i just dont eat?

Calories in Vs calories out. really is that simple.

As "simple" as that.
It is our mindset that lets us down, however.

It is better to do strenuous exercise for a short time than casual exercise for an extended period.
Strenuous exercise affects your metabolic rate much more effectively.

I don't have the enthusiasm or the energy to do that. I've never been the type to be into fitness. At least there's the option of dieting, which despite my addictions is still mentally easier to motivate myself to do than strenuous exercising.

And I, on the contrary, can only lose weight with the help of exercises, and I enjoy it, because after a tight and good workout, I can eat the way I want, and still not gain weight. At one time I found all the information I needed here , since it is really very effective, really working sets of exercises for any muscle groups and for any strength capabilities

It’s more important to restrict one’s food intact than to exercise when it comes to weight loss. It doesn’t take very long to eat 500 calories. It takes a lot of time and effort to burn it through exercise. Of course, exercise is important for other reasons, so it’s good to work some into your day if you are otherwise sedentary.

After a too-sedentary youth, I always tried to keep exercise integrated into my daily routine. A bicycle saved me lots of time and money, provided convenient sport and stress relief, and got me fit. I still use one for exercise to maintain the heart and lungs. If I feel fatigued, I try to remember that I'm feeling like a top athlete.
Weight is easiest to control in the store. If I buy chocolate with 30% sugar, it will tend to get eaten faster than the 20%, which disappears at a planned rate. Mostly, I buy organic, vegan ingredients, and watch my portion sizes.

natural foods take longer to break down so veg, fruit and protein keep you full up for longer. chocolate and sweets break down quickly and you are hungry again quickly

easiest exercise which is good for you is just a daily walk. Its good for you in many ways and I wish it was something that was promoted a bit more. A 30-60 minute stroll each day will burn off 200-400 calories (depending on your size) and so just a week of doing that could burn off a whole days worth of calories.

also drinking enough water can help a little with meal sizes if you consume it before you eat

take it 1 day at a time and don't think too much further ahead otherwise it can feel too big a task to take on. Some meal prep at a weekend can obviously help though.

If you are trying to lose weight, there is a temptation to drink less water, to quickly register a kilo less. This is a huge mistake. The body needs a lot of water to burn fat, and if you are a bit dehydrated, you'll have much less energy and inclination to exercise. I try to monitor my water intake to keep it adequate, and I still get dry from time to time. As the weather changes, the best indicator is having to pee for about a minute total per day at full stream volume. Also, artificial sweeteners are known to leave hunger untouched.

yeah its true that people don't seem to realise how much of an effect on energy levels being even a little dehydrated can make you

I used to be a runner but these days I do a lot of walking and I weightlift quite a lot. I always try and make sure I am hydrated well in the morning before a lunchtime gym session otherwise it is noticeable how quickly I get tired

As I get dry, I don't get thirsty. The first thing I might notice is breathing hard on a slight effort. If it is really bad, my nose and lips get a bit dry. In between, I get mental fog, and can't figure out why. That's why I record throuhput, and avoid most such days. 80% of the people admitted to Emergency care are clinically dehydrated.

As long as this thread is alive again...

My bride typically provided supper but I was generally on my own for lunch...and I am a creature of habit so there was limited variety in my lunches. (One cashier began ringing up my order before I reached the counter to place the order!) And in late 2018, in a routine physical, my blood test said I needed to lose weight (it was the A1C part of the blood test).

I made a small change to my typical lunches. That small change, repeated a lot, meant I lost about 15kg (35lb) in a little over year.

Um...then there was this Pandemic thing, and a lot less of what I eat is under my control, and I am trying hard not to completely regress to my old weight. Sigh. (Though the food I'm given is tasty!)

In simple terms:

1. Eat Less.

2. Exercise more.

In more complex terms:

1. Eat fewer carbs and fat, more fiber and protein.

2. Exercise more cardio, less body-building.

Healthy lifestyle choices for the long term is a good way to lose weight and to keep it off.

You see celebrities who lose weight within no time, they sell their workout dvd and then the next time you see them they've just piled it all back on again.
