Yea, I really love critters of all types. A few weeks ago I was talking to the neighbor's cat as if it were a person and the 9 year old girl who lives next door called out "Hi, Bobert" over the fence to let me know she was there. She started giggling and probably went off to tell her parents. It was sort of embarrassing, but really funny if you think about it.

I always talk to animals. i dont care what anybody thinks about it! :)

This is Alfie, an orphaned fox cub. He's a red fox but was silver when he was small.

I adore animals. To me, they are more than any human and have meaning. I understand animals deeply and I do have to "guess" what they are thnking (like I do with neurotypicals). I never have the worry, with animals, they are being deceptive or "pretending." I seem to know their thoughts, feelings, etc. and vice versa.

I loved the photos - hi Dermet and Jonnie. And the little fox - love you all.

I have not told anyone, but my cat, Sigmund, died last Monday and I'm not ok (no words).

I live in AK and I love wildlife......I have had moose, for instance, let me approach. Please note: I do not have a "Bambie" philosophy! I respect wild animals and their privacy; I know their power.

Sorry to hear about your cat, Labpet. Our bunny, Peski, died a couple of years ago and we still miss him.

This is strange. I never was able to connect with animals, and I always chalked it up to AS! A few times people questioned me, and I said "ehhhh... maybe it's an Asperger's thing. I have a hard enough time connecting with entitities who are sentient and can use language." It's actually surprising to me that many of you claim that Aspies connect to animals to a greater than typical degree.

When I was 7 my dad bought me a puppy, thinking it would help. It didn't, I'm afraid. :(

I could never get a pet... the pet just wouldn't be happy. To me, an animal is a statue made out of meat that moves, makes noise, makes a mess, and s**ts and pisses. I would never be cruel to an animal and I think the factory farm system is a travesty, etc., but pets just aren't for me. I could see myself living with roommates who had pets... and if I ever had my own family, I'd be okay with the other members having pets, as long as I didn't have to lift one finger to contribute to its daily maintenance.

Sometimes I think that certain people would think that that makes me a bad person. That attitude perplexes me. Just because I'm not a fan of animals? :? I mean, I'm inches from being a radical environmentalist and if I saw someone torturing an animal I'd probably get violent on the torturer... but animals just don't do anything for me personally.

I have a gorgeous little bunny rabbit called Jenifer! I have always got on better with her than with people. When I was little I used to speak to spiders, ants, beatles and cats!

I'm sorry about your cat. I lost mine in January. I think due to the cat food that was tainted. She had kidney failure. From the look on her face it was extremely painful...

Yes, it is very common. I had a Siamese cat named Samantha I was very close to. She was my best friend for 20 years. Animals have always been a part of my life. I couldn't imagine life without them. As my username illustrates, I currently have nine cats, four housecats and five ferals. I also have a dog.

Wow that is amazing I also had a half siamese black and white cat called Samantha "Sammy" she was 16 when she died last year and a very cool cat. I am a huge cat lover (not really other animals) at the moment I have a 12 year old cat called Clive Ginger "CG" and my favourite cat ever was called Euphemia. If you would like to see pictures go to www.myspace.com/catrionaajt.

I love animals, but not frogs, because i am scared of them.
My dog is specially trained for the needs ive had.
I still prefer cats though.
And rats even more so.
Birds are cool to,
quails make me laugh! Ah and they are te size of bumblebees when they are first hatched.
