Second this, the phone number doesn't change, a regex match is an option here. Even add switch&cases for terms like "baba Ji" and "black magic"

Also is there any good reason for allowing new users to flood topics, making replies I can understand, but to be able to start multiple new topics on a new account, makes no sense and it seems to be the first port of call in dealing with this...

Every forum I've ever been on (and they've all basically been support forums) has had a posting limit probation period for new users.

The most effective forum I seen at combating spam. Requires paid domains for signup, no google, outlook or anything. Need your ISP/Work/School E-Mail or your own domain... Works great, unfortunately it's not a option for this forum. Because you would be limiting access for people who may need support and would just give up.

More sewage today!

This has been going on, with varied intensity, for months or maybe years. There's no reason to imagine it is going to stop any time soon. I am therefore very puzzled by the apparent lack of intent to do anything about it. Depending on moderators coming along every day to clean the mess up after it has been deposited is really not very satisfactory. Surely it would be much better to block the problem "at source," by preventing these kinds of multiple postings? Allow a newly signed-up member to start one, and only one, thread until they have been approved by a moderator. This surely satisfies all concerns about providing support for new members, while preventing the wholesale spamming by the tantric astrologers?

I think that WP had a limit years ago. In fact I think that we still have a limit for original posts that start threads -of three a day. Apparently its not enforced automatically by computer, but relies on human moderators to enforce.

If it isn't enforced by the site code, we are back to square one with the morning mail delivery coming from scammer nations.

Better yet, simply require moderator review for any new user post that contains "91" in the subject line. This would allow new users to post legitimate questions like "Has anyone ever been to the Treatment Center at 91 Maple Avenue, Podunk?" or "Is a PDD-NOS diagnosis from 91 still good today or should I be reevaluated?".

I'd quite happily spam bust for this site. Is there a way of giving a user privileges to delete spam without making them a mod and usual mod privileges. Although to be honest I think the time zone differences between mods & spammers may be an issue , I think the mods are doing the best they can.

We can keep on creating new threads about the spam and suggesting ways to prevent it until we're blue in the face, but the site owner never does anything about it. I don't want to leave this site and start a new one after being a member here for so long, but the more spam we are getting, the more I'm considering on leaving this stupid buggy place and starting a new account on a different autism forum, one that's free of spam.

I prefer well-written commentaries instead of the daily sniping between proxy wannabe politicos. For this, I use TheMighty.com ( https://themighty.com/autism-spectrum-disorder/ ). It allows registered users to tailor their own "feeds" from the site to suit their interests; I use its RSS feed just for its simplicity and ease-of-use. Months ago, I suggested that WrongPlanet.net (being the world's largest autism social-media forum) might want to become one of the many partners that TheMighty.com includes in its work. For WrongPlanet.net readers and users, visiting TheMighty.com could add more depth to what is found at WrongPlanet.net without losing either.

I have seen this same assclown on many different forums and websites spamming that astrology jank.
He has been doing it for a few years that I can recall.
When I started playing a video game called Hearthstone, he was on those forums constantly as well as a couple other gaming and different types of forums.
I do wonder, does anyone actually call those numbers, and what does he say?
Idk, just curious heh.

It would be probably be along the lines of : What's your problem , I can fix that for you , My service is free but unfortunately there is a small administrative fee. Once you pay your wishes and dreams will come true NOT

Think WP forums need to consider a dramatic revitalization of it's website properties once again so that the astrological wholesale spammers can no longer hack into. It's getting really tedious now for the past several weeks and it will likewise put endured users off from visiting and posting.

yeah. :coffee:

i can't be counted on to take care of this s**t whenever and wherever it comes across. lives.

i'm not sure if it is possible to grant spam-removal privileges without making one a full-fledged mod, it may have to do with the site software. though if it was, i'd happily go for it...maybe something like 15 users plus the mods with the ability to combat it would do good.

now, that might not be a good longterm solution. i think a limit on posts by new members is the best all-around. but whatever is done...it has to be done NOW. :skull:

That would be the best idea with regards to keeping site members happy and holding back the flood of the voodoo spammers. I'm not even going to pretend to know the logistics involved with implementing this or how easy it would be to do.
Surely it must be counterproductive for a spammer to create problems like this as common sense would suggest new measures would be used to stop you.
Maybe you could try a symbiotic approach and create a sub thread for spammers only

I also think a limit on posts by new members should be done, as these spambots just clog the GAD forum most of the time with their sewage. Right now, this forum has the worst spam problem I've seen in a long time, when compared to other forums I post on.
