I think we should use the square peg in a round hole idea- thats cool.Although... why does it have to be a square peg?Someone should think of a really random shape to symbolize this.

How about a dodecahedron? :D

What about a plain diamond?:

Still a square, but tilted at a 45° angle; thus altering the symbolic meaning somewhat.

The ways that we can express our pride in our autism visually (or in any creative media) should be as diverse as we are. I would like to propose an additional symbol: the Knight Chess Piece

Some reasons:

* The Knight moves in a non-linear manner, which is the source of its power and potential - just as autistic thinking does not follow NT patterns and boxes
* The Knight in fact advances by moving sideways - just as our modes of thinking challenge NT norms
* The Knight like all chess pieces can be black or white, a sign of diversity
* Chess is a game of strategy and logic, often autistic strengths

I personally think that the autism symbols are very beautiful. My personal favorites are the tree and the butterfly, and also the infinity symbol.

Butterfly:

First of all we need to get rid of all of these ret*d puzzle ribbon symbols that make it look like we just won the special olympics. I would like to propose a symbol but I do not know how to download the picture from my computer.

How about a chess knight with a semi rainbow-y sword? Adding to the guy above about knights, a sword is straight and to the point, plus, I, personally, always feel like I have to fight for and defend myself constantly. A knight would fit perfectly
I dislike that puzzle piece :(
