It's a fantastic way of creating discourse around a subject and applying pressure. You have to remember we are the only cohort to have an Act of Parliament, if the scale and impact of what is done to us is exposed it speaks volumes about a few things, number one the effectiveness of the Autism Act and secondarily the wilful and crass manner in which government policy impacts our lives.

Unless you're telling me everything is OK?

Oh and btw it is getting resolved ASAP, my advocate is all over it, i just know what happens next, so does everyone who navigates the system on behalf of folks with ASD, it is cruel and unnecessary.

I'm glad your advocate is all over it. Good Luck.

I was not trying to imply everything is O.K. , far from it.

Reported. And ignored.

I'm sorry you didn't get anything. I was wondering as I remember applying at a similar time to you. I got zero points but sent off my letter for mandatory reconsideration yesterday - not that I'm holding my breath. Where did you find your advocate?

I googled autism advocacy in my area, they needed a referral from my GP so i asked and he did one.

The NAS Directory might have an advocacy group in your area, its worth a look. http://www.autism.org.uk/directory.aspx

Re. PIP, dont give up after the mandatory reconsideration, you have to appeal that THEN goto a tribunal. Don't let them dissuade you from pursuing your claim, it's what the tories want, then our misery at their hands becomes entrenched and lifelong.

I got zero points initially , I complained that zero points is an impossible score even normal people would get a point so I believed something was wrong. I also complained to Capita that the assessor was unqualified if she gave me 0 points. They said they needed more information from my GP , I told them what was the point in filling in my GP details on the forms if you are not going to contact them. They said they don't do this so I complained about this too. I spoke to my GP and they said they don't send any information to Capita. I was going nuts at this point , couldn't provide what they needed but complained to everyone I could. 6 months later I suddenly get a letter saying I am entitled and even back payed me. I should also complain about how it is possible to go from 0 points to having a valid claim without any additional information or another appointment , the whole system is rigged. When I say "I" iI actually mean my GF because I am unable to do the confrontation thing while my GF is very good at chewing asses , you should see mine

Haha, good on you :) do you have any physical issues or is it all about ASD on your application? I need to ask my GP if he will write a letter or provide supporting info. When I saw him last he seemed to think I would get it and was supportive of my application. I'm debating asking my boss if he can write a letter too about my communication difficulties and issues fitting in. I'm not sure if he would but I guess it couldn't do any harm could it

No physical issues that would get points , although I mentioned to the Gestapo that I didn't have a Dx of ASD , I said I was on the waiting list.
I think any additional information would only benefit your situation. As your entitled to PIP regardless of your working situation , a letter from your boss would definitely highlight your issues ( I'm not sure how I feel about it though , it might be best to ask NAS if it would help )
