I wish I was sensitized to anything still. I'm not sure if there's any level of gore or brutality that could shock me.

I f*cking LOVE GORE, mutilation, torture films and whatever such videos me and Shadow watch together. It excites me, turns me on, gives me that weird "weightless" feeling sometimes and that tight tension throughout my body. Ever since I was young, I would watch horror movies and anime shows like Hellsing and the sight of blood, the exhibition of power and strength and just complete carnage and the "disgusting" acts seen in these things are just overall pleasing to me. I do like looking at real gore on adult news sites (which I obviously cannot mention). One of which Shadow has an account that we fav videos on. Sometimes I go and watch some with him whenever I feel down and want to let my fantasies go wild for a bit. But I also like looking at drawings of it, particularly the plethora I find on Fur Affinity.

It's such a strong feeling when I look at that kind of content and it gets me sweating profusely with excitement (heh and maybe fear). I am not bothered by seeing gore and death videos of children, humans and animals.

Oh my god, same, When I was younger I thought I was a psychopath but now I realize my autism dampens my empathy.

yes, I was trying to spare the sensibilities of some readers here by keeping it generic.

I can watch surgeries and war movies without any problem. It's the thrillers and mass murder movies that are overdone that make my stomach boil.

I tend to view it in a detached clinical way. If it's special effects gore, then I just view it as special effects.

I watched a full autopsy once and the only thing that kinda bugged me about it was how a once living breathing person was now like completely useless and could be unceremoniously chopped up without a second thought.

I think maybe because that I find it interesting to see someone die in a movie, like the reasoning why they died or something like that.

Gore in video games is pretty good, I like it, gore in movies can be a bit overwhelming but I do like violent moves, just not when I am not expecting it. I have to be in the mood or a certain frame of mind to watch horror movies or intense movies.

Violent video games do not bother me at all, no, I have lost feeling to it, even to the extreme.

Movies are a little different.

I used to love watching gore when I was younger, nowadays I prefer medical videos. I think I first liked watching it because it created new ways to visualize the human body under stress, nowadays I watch for a more medical purpose. My sister would often show me videos of operations on humans or animals and its more interesting than satisfying. I don't think its a perversion as much a curiosity by form. One must wonder how does thy body twist and contort with the heart still beating?

I dislike gore. Unfortunately I had an experience not too long ago where a movie all of a sudden decided to spring an intensely horrible graphic scene on me, and I left the cinema in shock, I was disturbed for several days.

Kept thinking "No, they won't go there, maybe they'll turn it around and escape, please escape", but they didn't. I can't believe that film was only a 15, what kind of person shows a 15 year old that? After all, I struggled to get over it, can't imagine what I would've been like at 15 trying to deal with what I saw. 8O

The film was a sequel, and the first film was indeed violent but it was so in a cartoonish manner, so when I went to see the sequel I expected a goofy spy movie, but instead what I got was downright horrific. Those scenes were unnecessary and ruined the movie for me.

Personally, I found it difficult to follow the plot after that because my mind was just replaying that scene in shock really. It was quite odd because they went from a horribly gory scene, to following the main character and cracking jokes as if nothing had happened. Simply jarring. Others in the cinema laughed at the jokes, but I couldn't bring myself to because I was still trying to process what just happened.

Then, they repeated the scene with a different character. 8O Were they trying to mentally scar people for life?

How can people enjoy this film? Were the original screenwriters all fired or something? The sequel was nothing like the original, it could've easily been from a completely different franchise. Why would they write something like this? Also, how on Earth was it the same age rating to the original? What, is "15" the new "18" rating now?

Do you really want a 15 year old seeing graphic cannibalism, and multiple people being torn to pieces? 8O How is that OK to show to children?

All I wanted was a comedic spy movie, not to witness well... that.

Depends on the type
But I've been around slaughtered animals so sometimes I feel like I can smell the flesh or blood and it's just disgusting

But if the plot is really good I have no choice and I just grimace. I've only just started to watch slightly scary stuff again to be fair

I seen that stuff when I was much younger.

That just baffles me really. At 15 I couldn't even watch Monster House because the way the characters move I found to be too uncanny and it didn't sit well with me.

I think the thing is, some people can see horrific things in fiction and just move on with their lives, but for me I can't do that since I am unable to detach from what I am witnessing.

Rather, my mind just replays on loop whatever bothered me and asks "How can we prevent this from happening in reality?" and "Is it possible for such events to occur?", sometimes to the point of temporarily loosing my appetite in some cases.

My mind demands an answer, and I'll think through the scenario in detail, until I eventually get over what was bothering me.

It may even become an obsession temporarily. That's why I tend to try to avoid unnecessary shocking gore or overly emotional scenes. I realise that I overthink it, and I try not to, but when my brain starts worrying about a topic it's hard to shut it off.

I find it very disturbing. I don't get why anyone would want to watch that kind of thing for entertainment.

But then again, human beings seem to be naturally drawn to such things. Like the chariot races in ancient Rome where the audience loved to see the drivers get in terrible crashes and killed. Nothing has changed.
