I feel like it's important to acknowledge it.....but to learn from it and move on from it.

That doesn’t really make the anger go away.

How is one supposed to learn from it?

One can learn to avoid the source of the anger.

And one could use the anger as an impetus to do something like activism.

I've seen too many people be a victim of their anger.

If this thing is just one past event that drifts into your mind you can kinda relive it in a way that's time travel, and that you're adult self can time travel back and speak up for your childhood self. I do that sometimes, and it works.

But if its a whole raft of stuff that happened for years from diffent folks then its gonna take more. Don't rule out sitting on a shrinks couch and letting it all out.

Victims seem to progress through three stages: self hate, and then hating the other person/group who victimized them, and then some lucky ones pass through that to actually transcending hatred. You suddenly see your victimizers as being the hurt damaged and pathetic souls they really are. And you forgive them and get beyond.

Dear, although you are protecting your privacy by limiting your disclosure, I sense your wrongs were pretty profound, quite possibly more severe than most of us have ever experienced. I strongly recommend you find a trusted counselor to work through this stuff. Asking strangers on the Internet for tips is not going to get you where you need to go.

I have been working with a counselor. I was having a difficult couple of days and didn’t think I’d see her for a couple weeks.

Having seen her today I’m not really sure if I got what I needed... There’s probably just not a solid solution.

It’s interesting and sometimes helpful to see how other people process anger. My situation is extreme, though, so I get what you mean.
