I don't like wearing socks
Overall, my preferences to socks is a bit... Odd.
I was the same as the OP when I was a kid.
Since I'm not exactly allowed to take my shoes off, I either step over whichever feet is irritated by the edges of the seems or constantly just make my toes curl all day long and stomp on myself on every step.
I had periods of time when I never worn socks for years...
A year during high school, a year during college, even few recent years while at work and during pandemic.
Because I didn't like the heat and sweaty like sensations socks do when I wear them especially on hotter days.
I sweat on shoes without socks without a care, I walk on flooded areas without a regard for my feet and shoes.
Nowadays, it's based on whatever footwear I got available and for the dislike of feeling sweaty on bare shoes-in materials.
Currently, I'm wearing socks whenever I had to wear full cover and very thick footwear, and with an antiperspirant; usually I wear rubber shoes. Sock length is preferably below the knee high.
I don't like wearing shorter socks.
When I was younger it was because of things touching anything exposed on me that will make me scratch to a point that it bleeds.
Then when I grew a bit older, it was because I hate the sensation of garter over it's ends especially below the ankle.
Then when I grew even older, it's also because of the exposure, except not for the same reasons when I was way younger -- I may need some physical compression, I may also need to feel my entire legs with such pressure.
... I don't know what's happening to me with it though.

They have a large selection if you are picky about your socks.
