This is sometimes true here on WP - that is the original posts which have received say around 100 views/reads, and very little (if any responses) may be good indicators of misunderstood writing.

I disagree.

If folks misunderstand you then they are likely TO respond. And not to ignore it because they tend to get offended because they think that you said something that you didnt actually say (or mean to say) that was offensive to them.

If you fail to get a response i doubt that misinterpreting you original post would be the reason.

If they do, it looks like it's their problem. I take the time to say what I mean and mean what I say. If that offends them, they're free to ignore me and move on. Usually, if they're hell bent on getting a point across and when you ask the right questions it eventually pours out one way or another, so not too big of a deal.

Personally, I don't have gobs of time to try and decode what someone else is saying, and trying to do so gives me a headache.

I get frustrated when I specifically include something in a post but then some of the replies look like they haven't even read that part. Yes, I'm one of those people that get hell-bent on getting my point across, and when people miss that point it gets really irritating. I do try to make my posts as clear as possible so that people here don't have to read between the lines so much, and sometimes I even note that my post needs to be read carefully before posting (if my post isn't too long that is).

Along with all the usual emotional misunderstandings, I also get engineers dismissing my clear instructions on how to save millions of dollars. There are several ways to point out the current problems with ships' propellers, from the theory used, to wake observations, to comparison to better examples, but nobody wants to acknowledge errors.
