Your writing style is concise, clever and direct. I don't imagine other people are patronizing you when they say you should be published or that you could be. They might not be reaching a realistic conclusion about how ready you are to be published but their praise is likely sincere because you're genuinely deserving of it.
If it's a goal that appeals to you it would be worth pursuing, you have the talent to make it a more realistic goal than it would be for many people even if you might have other limiting factors that might make it seem like it's not very realistic.
