I am always trying to get up earlier, and regularly slipping later again. I can't enjoy special events because I can't arrive well rested.

Since I went on disability, the only time I’d be up extremely early is if I had to hit the hospital blood lab for A1C testing (usually 3 times a year, which is all Medicare will pay for.

I sleep 9PM-4AM, ideally. I don't have a problem getting up early.

Joe90, I think most people do have trouble getting up early, just not to the extent you do. They do cope better, but dislike it.

Joe, I thought of you when I saw a shirt at the thrift store today that said: "I'm allergic to mornings".

I worked with a couple of other night owls, and on the masthead of our newsletter we tried to warn people not to call too early. "In order to work on tomorrow's technology today, we get up 20 hours before everyone else." One lady couldn't do the math, and felt really sorry for us.

Yes, as, I've worked 1st/2nd/3rd shift and find waking up early not easy at all, unless by choice.
