I can't do that. I've tried... can't get the proper spin.

All in the wrist means bad news for Pugly.

I can kick a football, just like Jonny Wilkinson did in the Ruby world cup..

Jonny Wilkinson before he kicks the ball, puts his hands together and uses creative visualisation to visulise the ball going between the posts. I don't know if any Americans have adopted is style approach.

It's easy to throw a ball. More difficult to throw it with decent power and accuracy. Personally I can manage at best moderate power and accuracy. Oh well.

I can sorta throw and catch, but I'm not very good at it. Sometimes when I go to the swimming pool with my partner, we throw a rubber ball back and forth in the shallow end, and he gives me advice for improvement.

I don't think I was good at throwing/catching a ball when I was a child, but I can do it well enough now. I still have a lot of trouble catching small objects thrown my way (such as an apple, a pen or, say, a crumpled piece of paper with a note). I will invariably miss because my hands never seem to move on time. I usually make this clumsy movement, nearly bending double and trying to arrest the object using my arms and practically my whole body as well, and if I'm lucky, I do catch it. I've always attributed it to slow reaction rather than to coordination problems, but it could be both I guess.

Until recently, I couldn't hold an apple or a small ball in my hand and toss it up and down either. I simply couldn't catch it back again, and ended up dropping it. Now I can do this, but only if I don't throw the ball too high or too long. If I try to do it more than a couple of times, I get tired and can no longer catch it again.

I used to be terrible at catching until a teacher or someone pointed out that "keep your eye on the ball", unlike many NT sayings, was meant to be taken literally. When I kept my eye on the ball I was usually able to catch it, and I thought "OK, I've learnt to catch a ball". But sheol (my partner) has told me that I still do it oddly. I watch the ball like a hawk, even before it's thrown, and then when it comes near me I kind of snatch it out of the air. Apparently NTs can keep an eye on the ball without staring intently at it, and they kind of let it fall into their hands and their hands move with it a bit to absorb the momentum. That's what we practice at the pool.

I cannot throw a ball of any size at all, I have torn rotator cups in both shoulders. :(

Actually, I'm another who does the snatching out of the air thing. When it comes close enough, I just reach out and sort of "pick it up." I do the same thing with flies and mosquitoes.

Throwing a ball is one of the worst nightmares of my life. My inability to throw either straight or long has scared me away from every ball sport (including dodgeball) that I was ever asked to join in on. Catching a ball is less of a problem. I even have problems raising both of my arms directly above my head. I could never swim the backstroke, as a result. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I have limited range of motion on my rotator cuffs. I have the same problem when swimming. I can't throw hard unless I throw down at the ground. If I try to throw hard in a level or upward direction it hurts my arm. I just can't rotate my arm far enough back to have decent power. I think it's related to my spine not being good. My upper back has a slight hunch no matter how straight I stand. :(

I can through a ball properly, however aiming a ball and throwing it to somebody is an entirely differant matter.

Oh, try getting a black lab or a collie. They're all OCD, so, once you've taught them how to retreive a ball, every meter you can throw it equals an extra second's peace.

Ha, not my black lab. She doesn't go after anything but food.

I can throw and (usually) catch balls. It took awhile to learn though.

I've always been able to throw a ball properly. I learned by playing ball games with my twin brother and his friends growing up. When I got older, and started playing the games girls play like hop scotch and jump rope i would get tangled up in the rope.

I can throw and catch a baseball... I even caught a line drive once that was headed straight for my ribcage. I can throw (badly) a football (the oblong American version) and catch it. I can shoot, pass, and catch a basketball.

All this I learned mostly against my will/desire, usually because my dad would drag me outside whether I wanted to or not.

Of course, I virtually never practice those things... so if I try it now I'd be rusty as all hell.
