I still think it's pretty much the same as 'Cuckoo's Nest', because these poor kids had no say in the treatment they were getting, same as the patients in Kesey's novel. Matter of fact, those orderlies in the novel were right little bastards, and Nurse Ratched was aggravating the situation even more during the meetings. They might say that talking about things is good therapy, but what if people don't feel like it? Also, these kids being shocked can't possibly understand what is happening to them; that one case that was on the treatment for 5 years might say he's cured, but what if they had found something else? They might have gotten a better result. We'll never know. Some kids have actually been known to 'grow out' of that behaviour, but if they aren't given the chance, then how do you know if they are getting any proper benefit. Another analogy would be Pavlov's dogs, where he rang a bell and the dogs salivated. He'd ring the bell and give them food, and then later on he would stop giving them the food while he still rang the bell.

using electricity to control these children is torture which would not be allowed to be used against the worst criminals to stop them doing criminal things in many countries, and it shows they are lazy for not using any other way of helping them without a force of some type.

Quote:
watched that video and could not figure out what that girl (flapping her hands) did to deserve getting shocked.

it is probably to make her act like them [what their delusional idea of what 'normal' means]-a dictionary.com definition of torture says:
to twist, force, or bring into some unnatural position or form, meaning that is exactly what they are doing as they are forcing them to do something unatural to them.
