Sometimes I'll pace or dance sort of when mentally over-simulated. Doesn't happen too often though.

Yes, I have done it since my childhood. My mom told me I used to walk in circles so long a time I fell asleep. Nowadays I still pace a lot.

I was googling why I "pace uncontrollably" and came across this forum. :)

I pace while listening to music in a track around my room, and I usually can't stop even if I hit a wall or something. It drives my family crazy, but I love music and my mind is always somewhere else when I do it, I can stop myself from hitting things when I'm paying attention but I feel really uncomfortable when I try to stop myself.

It doesn't happen if I'm on the computer and typing or writing and not really listening to the music, or if I'm in a room with someone else and I force myself to sit down.

8O I'm just a little worried because I'll be in college in a month and I'll have a roommate.

I pace multiple times throughout the day... a must when I first wake up. Rarely do I randomly pace but it sometimes happens. I never do it when I'm excited more along the lines of calming down overload etc. Blare music in my ears as well.

I have a large rug in my living room with different geometric patterns on it. If I'm excited, upset, or deep in thought, I have a path I pace on that rug. If I'm outside having a cig, I just pace back and forth.

I pace when I'm thinking and excited. I've always found walking good for thinking. Pacing drove my parent mad when I was a child - I remember then always commenting on it - I didn't find it odd, or even realise I was doing it, so I think I just ignored them!

i shift from foot to foot and don't realise it. one time the cable guy was at my house and i found out he was from my old neighborhood. i got so happy and excited to meet and talk to someone from back home i started shifting, didn't realize i was doing it 'til he says to me, "why are you so keyed up?" i stopped talking right there and walked away. it pissed me off because if it were anyone else i would have been completely introverted and still, and probably been ridiculed for that too. and it was someone from back home. things like that make me sad.

Yes, yes I do. I pace around whether I'm excited or not because it feels good. I'm a pacing machine and people always seems to think something is wrong with that.
