Hey Ed, try reading The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion where you will discover its Football that was designed to be the opium of the masses, I certainly see more peoples world awareness dulled by thier obsession with football than religion.

As for the quiz, I could have answered yes to two of them.
Certainly belive in God, learned from being religious but the more you read the Bible, the more you find out how Jesus condemned religion and warned that Satan would sow his weeds in amongst the wheat.

You can see this in effect in so called "Christian" churches who teach to worship the pagan Trinity Sun-god rather than the mono God he revealed himself to Moses as.

No wonder the Catholic Church used to burn people alive for reading the Bible.

I am not remotely religious so the last poll option was the one which applied most to me, although I do not think that most religions are like corporations.

i can't vote because i am over 50% agree with answer 1, 2 and 5. and could only rule out 3 and 4.

I lived in J'lem for a few years and though it's a tough city to live in, the feel is strangely heavenly.

My mom was EXTREAMLY religious, so I am well-accquainted w/ the Bible. I'v also studied other religions in my quest to find "Something to believe in" Alas,after many years I believe religion is a crutch for the masses born out of a need for power, and that it is a business. More people have been killed in the name of God than any other way. If there was a God, I don't think he'd approve of modern religion.
Bono form U2 summed it up for me when he said "The God I believe in isn't short of cash, Mister" when I put that on a note and put it in the "Collection Plate" the last time I ever set foot in a church the preacher asked my mother to please not bring me back. Does that sound like a true "Man of God", No, it sounds more like a "guilty conscience" to me.
Have you ever wondered why it's called "The greatest Story ever told?" The Bible I mean.
The King James Version most are familiar w/ was put together by MEN, and they picked and choose both what they wanted included and ommitted. You can't trust men to do a Gods job. The original Hebrew text is vastly different than the watered-down version most people currently read.
Not that I am against anyone who has "found God", each to their own. And because I believe in Physics, I believe everyones right and everyones wrong all at the same time. I know that doesn't make much sense to most, but in its own way, if you love physics, it does.

I am Catholic and go to church every Sunday, mainly out of routine than duty.

This poll doesn't have enough options. I'm agnostic but that last option is way too harsh on religion.

I like Christians and think they are good people even though it seems like a lot of people only believe for social reasons or because they were raised a certain way. The only religious people I don't care for are the hard-core social conservatives (both Christian and Muslim) that want to impose their religious views on the secular legal system.

My father was an atheist, and I suppose my grade-school teacher was one too since we never received any kind of religious instruction. Up until about twelve or so, I thought that belief in god(s) had gone out with the Middle Ages! I agree with the Marxist assessment that religion is a tool to control the masses, and I hugely enjoyed Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion". Another good read for sceptics is the chapter on religion in Desmond Morris' "The Pocket Guide to Manwatching".

I am a Lutheran, but very gradually drifting toward secular humanism. I do believe that a God exists, though.

I am probably along the lines of DIY Christianity.

I'm an athiest. My thoughts are that everything is a big accident There is really no reason for me to be alive right now. Life is such a mysterious thing in that all it wants to do is keep surviving (well, that's what the body wants... what the human mind thinks is another thing).

On the poll even though option four doesn't really make sense I chose that because I consider death to be a higher power of sorts... I don't consider me to be in control of death anyway. And even though I contemplate it I rule out suicide because I didn't choose to be put on Earth so why should I choose to be put off it ?

I vote that there aren't enough options on the poll. The spectrum of religious function in people's lives is as broad as the autistic and the neurotypical spectrums themselves.

well i put the last one and to some extent i do believe this, i prefer to think that we all evolved and that we have some control over our lives, so do not believe in fate or gods as such, although i do find the more i read about quantum mechanics the more i realise that the universe has a predisposition to this form of evolution because of the particles that make up everything but i still do not believe that this is because of some higher power .

so can i have my own religion of the believers of the big bang
