Congratulations! :-) Somehow I had a hunch you'd become a moderator now, you seem fit for the task.

Btw, how's that gluten-free diet going?

Once again you display great grace and skill picking your moderators. [/sarcasm]

What's wrong with gwenevyn being a mod?

1. People Pleaser - at the best: an annoyance and at the worst it leads to the mod being someone else's sockpuppet or inaction. Cops don't survive handing out lollipops of love - they use force to get the point across.

2. indecisive - spends too much time thinking over a decision, can lead to inaction and lack of respect from population. Which in and of itself can stop many issues on a site if they know the pain is coming when the mod pops up.

She has some of the qualities you need for a mod but lacks some of the more important ones.

Feel free to ignore me - I'm just a rational objector.

Thanks for the bread, Fed. :P And thanks for the warm welcome, everybody else.

Flagg, I believe a more accurate description would have been:

1) Amicable

2) Temperate

It's useful to be able to exercise those traits when necessary, even if--like all things--they are not universally appreciated.

Flagg, I believe a more accurate description would have been:

1) Amicable - Useful for diplomats and Wal-Mart door greeters. Moderators are neither of these things. Moderators are cops on the bad side of town or SWAT officers.

2) Temperate - Plenty of temperate people can get off their haunches and act quickly. You however, cannot.

It's useful to be able to exercise those traits when necessary, even if--like all things--they are not universally appreciated.

Perhaps Cassandra has spoken. Perhaps not.

Maybe Cassandra's wondering what Katarina was doing with the Blue Box of Zeus.

Fare thee well on the path of the Valkyrie Moderator, noble gwenevyn.

Good fortune,

- Icarus wonders what took you so long.

Love this! :D

Congratulations, gwenevyn.

And to Flagg (and other 'rational objectors') can we not just give her a chance? I believe people can be just as easily un-modded if appropriate....

No matter what choice is made, there will be some dissent. Good thing too. I'd hate the think that we were of one mind. I'd hate to think that we were a group mind.

Who here has read or watched Ghost in the Shell, and what it said about homogeniety?

Dang, I'd at least give her a chance before saying such things.

Knowing the work Gwen does, I'm certain she knows how to handle rambunctious hooligans.

Edit: Wait is this just a big joke Flagg? I'm starting to think it is... I can't tell...

I know I 'm fairly new and all, but congrats all the same, Gwenevyn, you're a good choice for a mod. :)
