I'm an INTP

I'm not surprised that most posters here are INTJ, that's the type that seems associated with the "stereotypical" Aspie.

I've always had a problem with most MBTI tests I've seen because many don't score the P/J distinction right. I know plenty of "J" people who are disgusting slobs and plenty of "P" people that are always neat, tidy, and well dressed, and thus tests using such superficial questions to discriminate between P and J will often mistype people. IMO the best way to tell if a person is either an xNxP, an xSxP, an xNxJ, or an xSxJ is:

NPs are THEORY-oriented

SPs are SITUATION-oriented

NJs are GOAL-oriented

SJs are PROCEDURE-oriented.

Oh, and I'm very surprised that there are xxFJ aspies, since xxFJs make decisions based on extroverted feeling, which is about social norms, expectations of society, and related social things us Aspies suck at.

I'm an INFP. I go with my feelings and tend to be moody and impulsive. It doesn't work out so well when dealing with other people, since even when I try to interact socially, either I go ahead and try something (usually screwing it up and offending people or just getting weird looks) or I'll try to think it over and end up paralyzed and not do anything at all. I also find it very difficult to connect with people, which troubles me because I don't like being completely isolated like I am now.

Well, I'm an NJ, and I'm not remotely goal oriented. (I think my J is pretty low though.) And what does J or P have to do with being a slob or neat?

That's not what that means at all. Feeling has nothing to do with social norms or expectations of society or social stuff. I'm not surprised that INFJ's are a lot more common among us than among the general population.

INFJ's also supposedly are the most likely to experience psychic phenomenon, and Aspies are supposedly more likely to experience that too...

I can relate to parts of the INFJ label, though not all (maybe because of AS?)

I am INFJ, and it seems very fitting... I wonder why so many Aspies have the rarest type. :?:

I'm an ISTP, the first in this list who's not uncertain about it. I've done about 10 different tests and I have always ended up with ISTP.

INTP. Unequivocally. I can be very empathetic, almost a NF type, but I'm not quite a INFP. I respond very sympathically to INFPs though. I also can be "explosively gregarious" as someone else said, but I still score 100% Introverted on the test every time I take it. I can be very intensely social, but I fade very, very quickly. Then I just want to go home to do something very INTP-ish, like nag people on online forums for their errors in logic or something. In fact, when I'm tired, irritable and just not going to "play" anymore is when I'm in my full INTP glory (also my AS glory), and is that not the real test of one's true meddle?

And yes, I'm totally, completely "theory-oriented." Hence why at 36, I have no career. I'm still ironing out my personal theory of what a career should mean to me.

I fit every description of INTP I've ever read. Someone in another thread posted the sexual dispositions of the different MB types, and the one for INTP fits me to a tee too.

Extreme INxP with varying from T to F. Even so I seem to go by the "still water runs deep" saying as I just don't show my emotions externally and may seem to be T at all times. I do indeed lean more towards INtP.

lol. There must be something about being an aspie and liking personality tests. (I do, too.)

I almost always come out as an INTP on Myers-Briggs with an Enneagram of 5. Those two read almost identical to me.

Maybe so :) I certainly enjoy taking them. Of course if you're introspective, I guess it makes sense you'd be interested in learning about yourself in that way.

Yep. Sometimes I think I am too introspective.
