Velour - like velvet. I think it sounds cooler.
I like velour too! Velour is knitted, whereas velvet is woven on a special kind of loom. I used to make a point of always wearing something furry (velour or velvet or weird fuzzy fabrics) or something shiny. But now I just wear jeans and t-shirts.
My other favorite sensations are:
-soft fur like cat fur or the fur behind a dog's ears
-strong wind
-pressure, like someone lying on a mattress which is on top of me
-the feeling of sitting on a washing machine while it's washing or a dryer while it's drying
-heat, like sitting with my back against a radiator
-smooth scales, like a snake sliding between my fingers
-soft paper
-crunchy food, including parts of plants that most people don't eat
-smooth plastic
Sensations I don't like:
-restraint of any kind
-two parts of my body touching, such as my legs
-sweaty skin
-a large insect crawling on me
-my hair being pulled
-being tickled (I'm very ticklish)
-slimy food like mayonaise
I cant stand wearing hairy furs as i am extremely ticklish. although before our cat died i used to like it when he would lay on my belly. strong wind is a big no no with me as i am extremely thermal sensitive, cant stand the cold, cant stand wind, unless its from heater. the pressure thing is awfully common n however i think i have that one in a bit of an escalated scale since i like very very deep pressure. i think before i had this neurodegenerative disease (explained at
http://www.alinssite.info) i used to sit on the washer on purpose with dad while he was folding stuff from the dryer and we would talk about stuff. i also like heat, when i was little and before i had this neurodegenerative disease i used to every christmas eve and random other nights but the most special one was very early christmas morning i would wake up around midnight knowing from google that santa would be arriving in a few hours according to the NORAD tracks santa thingamajig and theres a vent in our house right in the livingroom a little ways off from the xmas tree so i would curl up with my back against the vent and let the heat comfort me until i saw anything, sadly every time i would accidentally let myself fall asleep.
dont know about smooth scales, never felt those before! paper i hate paper, it reminds me of school work, i hate school work... i cant eat crunchy foods anymore because of the disease but i used to love eating salad plain lettuce and tomatoes and cucumbers along with a little bit of dressing and lots of sea salt. smooth plastic has a nice feel to it i agree... most autistics/aspies do NOT for any reason like any restraint, i was kind of lucky when my powerchair dealer decided to go with a harness on my new powerchair and one of my friends had something very similar that i found very calming for me, pretty lucky huh, no one actually knows that i liked it on my friends powerchair he he, so another reason for me to be excited about getting mine
im pretty neutral when it comes to two parts of me touching, but if it must happen for a long time it must be in deep pressure, light touch is not a good sensation with me! i dont know why, but i like sweaty skin and how its nice warm and sticky... some of my friends ive hugged them on purpose when they are dripping sweat for that nice warm stickyness... large insect will send me screaming! and being tickled i dont like and i am extremely ticklish too... i am not very food sensitive, although i will prefer to drink a blended smoothie over any type of solid but thats because of my disease making chewing and swallowing horridly messed up...

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.
