See my other thread about dietary problems.

As for what I cannot eat because it disgusts me:

-cereal with milk (too soggy)
-warm milk (I need ice in mine)
-milk that isn't white skim
-ranch and Italian dressing (I only eat 1000 Island)
-any carbonated beverage
-hot chocolate
-any grilled food with an excessive amount of burnt black stuff on it (I tend to avoid anything grilled for this reason and actually never learned how to use a grill because of this--toaster oven broilers all the way!)
-croutons IN a salad (though I eat them outside of one)
-tuna melts (though I like tuna by itself)

I am not at all picky in what I like to eat - i pretty much like everything apart from melon, milk, margerine and marmite and most overprocessed foods, but as a child there were a lot more things I didnt like, particularly some whole dinners that my mum would make even though I would like all the seperate ingredients. Had to eat what was put in front of me though and I think that is the reason why I am not picky now. In fact I love to try new things, particularly if I cook them myself. I am insistent on eating my 5 fruit and veg each day though and dislike fried things with a lot of fat in - not because I dont like the taste but psychologically knowing that I am eating all that fat puts me off.

i am v picky, but have too many "rules" to what i eat to list here, in short not slimy not spicy but there is far more as well. if i go to a restaurant i like to be able to check the menu first so i know there is something that i can eat. i do get worried about going round other people's houses as they may think i am being rude by not eating.

I'm very well known in my family for being an insanely picky eater. I can't stand tomatoes, tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, cooked peas, spinach, asparagus, peppers, anything even slightly spicy, lunch meat, sloppy joe, onions, pears, roast beef, pork, egg yolk (no matter the preparation), cream cheese, relish, baked potatoes (if wrapped in foil only, microwaved doesn't bother me), soups, pizza that's too greasy or watery, and some other things. I tolerate few forms of leftovers. But generally I've noticed things that are chewy, acidic or spicy are what bother me most. Mixtures of thigs having too many flavors are also irritating, so my food has to be kept separate.

Although tomatoes are on the ew-list, anything made from tomatoes (ketchup, sauces, ect.) I love. I don't get that. lol

Anything with that mushy, not solid whatsoever texture, it won't go down for me. Fish, mashed potatoes, bananas, most things. Everytime I give them a shot, I usually end up throwing it all up or gagging. People always kinda joke around, kinda get offended I think when I say I can't eat a certain thing. It's not my fault dammit!

For me it's not so much a question of what I don't eat so much as what I do eat. According to my parents the one obstacle that they could never overcome with me is getting me to eat certain foods. Maybe if I move out and I'm forced to change my diet, my attitude will change, but the truth is right now I don't enjoy food and prefer to keep a routine around having to eat it and this involves eating the food I am comfortable with eating.

I am extremely picky. i can't eat anything thats been touched by foods I don't like. (which is a lot) I have special ways o eating things. such as, I'll get a cheese burger, with only the bun, the meat and the cheese. i'll eat the top part of the bun firt, making sure to get all the cheese off the top then i'll use fries, or my finger to get the cheese off the meat. then i eat the meat. then i eat the bottom part of the bun.

I hated roast beef when I was a child, didn't like the rubbery bits and would choke or gag on it, also hated carrots and broccoli until I was a teenager . I do love some leftovers, beef stew, chili and home made soups actually improve in flavor the next day, also leftover pizza makes a great breakfast.

As a child I would only eat potatoes really... I was incredibly picky and fussy.

Now though I will eat anything. I'm known as 'Wild Woman' or "Bush Lady" in my office because I love fried bugs... I eat everything and anything, except pork, which is gross, or eggs which I'm allergic to. And there's no way you'd have me eating anything processed with:

aspartame
artificial sweeteners except stevia
benzoate
anything GE
added flavour
added colour
MSG
various preservatives
various fillers
nitrates
sulfates
etc

Not a chance. I'm an obsessive label-reader... I will not eat any of this s**t that the food-chain is full of. I'd rather go hungry to be honest. I like my food whole, real, natural and tasty. All my produce, without fail, is organic - if it isn't organic I won't buy it.

So I suppose I am fussy really. I'll eat anything, as long as it meets those criteria!!

I'm picky in the sense that I don't eat anything with its legs still on!

I do like meat pies though...

I Googled online and found that picky eating can be somewhat related to autism, and I'm wondering if anyone here is a bit picky in the foods they eat. For instance, I *hate* eating most foods leftover, since while my family insists it "tastes the same," I can very much notice the difference, and think that leftover food tastes vastly inferior to when it was originally cooked. There are some foods that I can eat leftover when cooked right, like pizza, although I just have a disdain for leftovers in general. There are also some foods I absolutely refuse to eat, like broccoli, pickles, mustard, and such, and the texture of foods I don't like in some respects plays a part in whether I eat it or not. I also get uneasy when trying new food my mom makes, and it annoys me when she makes meals she *knows* I don't like. Granted, I am somewhat afraid to criticize her cooking since she can easily oppress me with her slanderous tongue...

What do you all think?

I'm the exact same way. I'm a very picky eater and I do not like leftovers at all. The smell is awful and my parents can't understand that I don't think the leftovers taste the same. But I can eat leftover, cold pizza. That's about it for leftovers.
