Didn't learn to swim until college because of the coordination thang. In college I took "swim fitness" twice. Regularly swam three days a week from 1992 to 2006, but too much stress in my life made it so I couldn't swim - I'd get dizzy after a few laps. Keep trying to start up again. I'm pretty good at most strokes, flip turns, etc., but I have to swim with fins to keep up with the guys.

I can swim, and I enjoy swimming. Unfortunately where I moved to last year there is a distinct lack of facilities nearby.

I find swimming relaxing and therapeutic - it takes the weight of the body and joints, and I can get a wonderful rhythm going with the strokes. Also the hit of endorphins after a good session is wonderful.

The down side is sometimes I get too dizzy if I get out the pool quickly, and it can cause cramp in my little toe - and it is painful, and impossible to shake off in the water, you simply have to stop.

I love swimming, though I haven't been swimming for a while. This summer, I've got some great ideas about things to do. It'll be great.

Surprisingly, I can swim, and quite well too. This goes against my lack of coordination, seeing as I was never able to crawl in the right way. What helped is that I started having swimming lessons as young as 3 so from an early age, I've had practice with swimming. I would bet that if I had started swimming at a much older age, it would have been impossible.

Swimming is one of the few sports/exercises I can do without looking like a complete fool, and I find it highly therapeutic, even in crowded pools. Woot.

As a kid, I took lots of swimming lessons, but seemed to not either be able to do it well or I'd forget how to. I enjoyed swimming, but my own version of it. As an adult - after I turned 18 - I lost interest in swimming and haven't done it in years.

can't remember when I learned how to do it, 6 or 7 maybe. I love it though. Really like the sensory deprivation. My family used to go to this community swim thing at the local middle school. I was almost always the last one out. I'd splash around and stuff like that, then usually just float around on my back for hours when the big crowds left.

I'm a consoler at a summer camp and were in the water 2-3 times a day (Polar Bear, Playstation-Swim, Swim period, Night Swim), All but Swim periods are not mandatory, and even the that one the kids can sit out if they really don't want to swim.

I am a good swimmer and enjoy the actual swimming, somewhat. The part I find especially uncomfortable, however, is once I get out of the pool. I absolutly hate the feeling of the wet swimming shorts against my skin. Then I have to make my way to the changing room in those wet shorts only to be confronted by wet floors in which I have to somehow try to find a way to change whilst not getting my dry clothes wet, especially the socks. This can be further aggrevated by bits of sand and dirt from peoples shoes.

If the swimming is done at a beach then the beach sand is another factor. One advantage at the beach is the option of sitting still in the sun and drying naturally while not having to walk around with the feeling of the wet shorts on my skin, although it has to be a very warm and dry day to ensure a quick dry. Once dried I'm very hesitant about the thought of going back in the water and starting the process over again.

I learned to swim when I was in grade school. My school had a swimming program, and all students in certain grades where required to take part in it. I was initially afraid of being under water. And, for a long time, I was terrified of the deep end of pools. Eventually, I overcame my fear of the deep end.

I consider myself a good swimmer.

I love a good clean deep swiming pool.. unfortunately so do all the neighbors and their kids. I have tweakers and crackheads for neighbors, so its fun to just sit back and watch the drama. Then i swim when they all leave.

I swim laps, not into the whole "socialization at the pool" thing.

Typically I go for a mile each session. My pool has designated lanes for adults (18+) only so it's pretty easy to get some solitude. If they're all taken one will usually open up within 15 minutes.

Almost forgot: I usually swim freestyle but occasionally will toss in the breast stroke as well.
