Apparently, I have no 3-D memory. I can mentally manupulate an object in space, but I have to be looking at it. I couldn't solve it in my head, because I couldn't visualize the cube. Once I got out a cube (Rubik's) and set in on the table in front of me, it only took a few seconds to see the answer.

This explains a lot. Maybe this has something to do with my clumsiness. I must have to see my environment before I can figure out how to move through it. Even then, since I can't see myself, I'm just guessing what will happen if I move certain way.
