a soap opera star?

It could be a description of my aspie son in law. The dream would be shattered if you followed him home though. His beautiful wife and handsome sons are good to look at. But the house rocks to the sound of aspergers! He has 2 sons on the spectrum.

He is polite, works hard, has saved and is doing well financially....and he is a lovely bloke. He never says the wrong thing because he is the strong silent type. Little did I know until recently what anxiety lay hidden beneath.

There's really not enough information to put a particular name on the sort of person it is, because a person could do those things for an innumerable amount of reasons, some of which are better than others.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld prior to his messy divorce, hair loss and subsequent bitterness. Like Kurtz and Samson before him, Blofeld was once considered an up and coming executive until a woman brought his downfall.

Calling a spade a spade topic

The current mayor in Toronto, Canada, also unaffectionately known as "His Blondeness"?

Too bad he is married!

Some nazi SS bigwigs supposedly had perfect lives. They were also Genocidaires.

But seriously, Greentea, everyone has some flaw. Overachievers are always worried they are one step away from disaster. If this was me I would always worry about it crashing down in a Kafkaesque sort of way. No one is 100% perfect.

That kafkaesque crashing down? A friend of mine and I call it "The Dark" and it's a legitimate thing to fear.

I had classmates in high school that were already like that. They all became very successful adults and random people were always saying great things about them. Roughly about half the students did not like them however.

The problem is that it was impossible to have an honest conversation with them. If there was a bully known to have brought a knife to school and stabbed someone with it and we were having a private conversation about him away from school they'd still be beating around the bush "well. . . so and so is. . . special" - so as to never compromise. Also, if there was information on an extra class or something one needed to know they would often not give it away in hopes to get a tiny bit ahead.
The only way to know what they truly thought was to be a part of the clique; and that meant either belonging to a particular race or being Paris Hilton-like rich and having them suck up to you - and even so I could see a pecking order amongst them.
