I prefer the floor - when I moved into an unfurnished apartment, I bought a mattress and some cushions as my only furniture, and it turned out that the pile of cushions was more comfy to sleep on than the mattress, so it became my couch/dining table.

Great description :D Mine always snuck up on the chair without me noticing, with my arms twisted around them in weird ways. A friend told me I was a total freak in grad school, as I would turn up to class late with soft toys, settle the toys on the desk, do 'gymnastics' on my chair for a while (my legs-on-chair fidgeting), then fall asleep for ages, only waking up to ask brilliant questions

Depends...when I am at work I lean forward and to the left (and I do have mild scolosis!). When I am at home I like to be sitting leaning to the left and legs/feet under me (like a ball) or sprawled out on the bed. Never liked the floor much.

I usually have legs crossed and sometimes I sit on both of my legs. I have been told I sit like a Japanese woman.

I like to sit on the floor. I think it started when I was little when my nan had a coal fire. I liked to sit near it and watch the flames.

I either sit hunched over, with my legs indian style, or my legs propped up on a table or anything else.

How am I most comfortable sitting? Sittin' on top of the f***in' world, that's how!!

Nah, but seriously. I don't know. It depends on how my mood is. If I'm nervous in the waiting room, I slouch back and tip my hat over my eyes and pretend to be resting. Anyone else do this?
But yeah, it depends on how my mood is. Otherwise, it's always best that I have my legs stretched out.

Dinner chair - prefer to sit with legs crossed "femininely". Pressure thing... I... er guess.

Arm chair - with quilt around me and vegging. Usually slouched. No crossing patterns or anything.

Don't like lying on the floor. I only lie on sofas and beds.

I would normally sit on a chair as anyone else would although I really wish I could sit with my legs up, I like the idea of hugging them as I sit, unfortunitely I'm not flexible enough to hold the position comfortably so I constantly tend to keep moving in my seat alot. I really want to be able sit like L from Death Note (my current obsession).

might this just be because aspies live in their own worlds more than nts- so feel less constrained by social norms? might it not be simply that everyone would be more comfortable sitting in 'weird' positions, but have been told to behave a certain way- but we just ignore 'rules'? esp since aspies are more into physical sensations- would notice more than others what is comfortable, and what is not?? :)

I think it's mainly for comfort. Maybe also for a sense of individuality, a sense of being. It's good to be different and unique:D

I also hunch forward when I am sitting. My parents always tell me to sit up straight, and I try to, but end up slouching in the end.
I also 'hover' over my food when I eat. It is more comfortable, and I also don't have to worry about any food falling off of my fork/spoon when I am eating.

I like sitting cross legged in my computer chair (with a cross legged ground sit that is)
Sometimes I sit with one leg down and the other leg curled underneath my body.
