When some people hear I'm a comedian and I have asperger's they say "I didn't know someone who's autistic could have a sense of humor" and I say "I didn't know you were so incredibly stupid and close-minded."
They get mad for some reason

Because you called them a name and you were putting them down. No one likes to be put down. Whoever says they don't care what people call them, I don't believe them. They may have learned to ignore it and not let it bother them but that doesn't mean they like it.

My boyfriend had me read an email he had this morning. It was about a guy buying a taser as a anniversary gift and his wife opens it and he uses it and zaps himself with it to show how it works. I couldn't see the humor in it. My boyfriend told me he was zapping himself is what. I didn't find it funny. I didn't understand why it was funny.

I get almost all jokes. I find that NTs are more easily offended and literal-minded than I am.

More importantly, I can take a joke, and that's more than I could say for most people.

I have noticed. I love to joke but for some reason people get offended by them; blondes, blacks, politics, religion, race, ret*ds, etc.
I like telling aspie jokes and I hate it when they get taken personally, assuming I am some dumb ass, maybe some NT who is making fun of us. I've been flamed on IMDB by a couple aspies for telling my Cruella joke. I was a dumb ass back because I find it really hard to be nice to bad people.

Does anyone else struggle to pick up on people being gay?
There have been two people in particular where I've made myself look like a total idiot because I just don't pick up on the clues/hints/whatever they're called. I felt really bad and stupid afterwards because the advice I gave was even more stupid than usual.

Yes. Them dressing in rainbows or them holding hands or sitting together isn't going to tell me anything because how do I know they aren't best friends. Also never judge the way someone dresses. And two men going out together also doesn't tell me anything because how do I know they aren't hanging out as friends. My brothers have gone out with their friends, does that mean they're gay?

You shouldn't feel stupid for not picking up on the cues. People should learn how not be so judgmental. Be happy you aren't that way. I think the world would be a lot better place if everyone failed to fail to pick up cues because it makes us more open minded and not so judgmental. We would see a person and not make assumptions until we know them.

I am usually quick to get jokes, and like plays on words. However, like many others here, I don't like old, tired, scripted jokes or jokes that are mean-spirited. Also, if someone makes the same joke more than once, it ceases to be funny.

I like what he said because it wasn't any more insulting than the comment made at him. :D

I usually get jokes but occasionally one goes over my head. Often though, people don't get MY jokes, because they're often subtle and interjected in normal conversation. They either ignore them or the conversation gets stopped dead in its tracks, at which point I have explain, "That was a joke!" :D I think people see me as serious all the time with no sense of humor, which isn't true.

I've got a good sense of humor. I'm not that great at makin' them, but I get a lot of them quickly. So don't flow with the stereotypes that Aspies don't laugh.

Tell me about it! They ONLY thing that could really be a true stereotype about blondes is that some STUPID women would be more likely to die their hair blonde to get a man that would help them out with everything, and consider themselves smart for doing so. As for NATURAL blondes, some are VERY smart, and there is no correlation between hair color and intelligence.

Maybe this is an attempt to belittle the aryan ideal. THEY preferred blondes. Ironically, germany is next to some countries that are FAR more likely to be blonde.

I just don't understand blonde jokes because is it people who are naturally blondes or people who dye their hair blonde? And what type of blonde? Dirty blonde? Strawberry blonde? Platinum? White blonde?
I normally ask these questions when people tell me a blonde joke...and they just look at me or tell me to shut up.
But I just don't understand it, because im not the cleverest person in the world, but there are far thicker people and most of them aren't blonde...its really confusing.

I don't laugh at stupid jokes, which most tend to be, I prefer pranks
which are more visual, word play is also funny, just not ha ha funny
