I like my space tidy although that tidy isn't the same as other peoples tidy,
but I don't much care about the rest of the house because it isn't my space.
I don't like it messy, but I don't mind a bit of clutter, my mum goes on and on, and also considers herself a neat freak but she's not, she just like things tidy.

My world is what I term "Organized Chaos"
I know what pile of books, the book I'm looking for is in.
Also my autistic daughters favorite game is taking all the clothes out of the drawers and throwing them in the air over herself, so it "rains" clothes. I let her do it cause she loves it so much, and its not hurting anything.
However, theres clothes all over the house at any given time. Wish I cared more, but I don't.
I'm also a hoarder.

Yes, I'm messy at times in that I'm not very quick to take care of the laundry however, please note I'm not a slob just sometimes slow to get around to carrying out such action beyond this I'm a fairly tidy individual..

Very messy!!

I used to be much tidier. That was before the internet lol.Been known to cry over mess.

Like other posters mentioned my "tidy" is not the same as other people's "tidy". My order might look illogical to other people, but to me it makes perfect sense why i've put something there and not somewhere else.

I tend to let mess build up to the tolerance threshold, and when it's virtually impossible to circulate around the house I start tidying up.
And when I do start tidying up I just can't throw everything into a drawer. I need to neatly classify everything and put it where it makes the most sense for it to be.
I specially have problems with clothes and paperwork.

I think it might be something to do with the photographic memory thing, but I need to see my clothes to remember where they are whether they're clean or not. So I've got a bookcase to put the clothes that cannot be hanging, like t-shirts and jumpers, and i've got them all on piles for winter, summer, t-shirts, vests, cardigans, etc 8O

Paperwork, I need to have it all in associated folders, so things tend to lie around here and there on tables and desks until I get round to putting them away where I will find them next time I go looking for them. If I need anything before it has been duly catalogued and archived I just have to rely on my photographic memory -only that sometimes I mix my albums :?

I dont consider myself cleaner or messier than the next man, but it doesnt seem to matter to them cuz I still get ****ed on either way.

The one weird thing though...I always have a clean car. It's weird because every single normal NT I've ever known who considers themselves clean always have their cars full of crap. I barely leave anything in mine, except a few necessary supplies. I always keep my reciepts and loose change in my purse and clean it out when I get home. I always take trash out of my car at every oppurtune moment.

Weird to me cuz I dont really obsess myself with keeping the car clean. It just seems to mindlessly happen while everyone seems to mindlessly leave trash and junk everywhere in their cars.

I have identical twin sons, both dxed with Aspergers. One is very, very untidy and one is painstakingly tidy.

I tend to be cluttered (random clothes and papers), mainly because overly clean doesnt feel very "safe" for some reason. Not enough visual "pressure" i guess, confined spaces (lacking in people) feels very comfortable.

I can't seem to access the mental energy to organize my physical space, and I have only a vague idea of *how* to organize, and I certainly have no clue how to organize on a large scale. As a result, my apartment is truly frightening. I feel like I need to be explicitly "taught" how to organize, that I need a comprehensive and thorough education on the subject. I've been given a few pointers, over time, but it's never enough for it to really sink in with me. I have not gotten anything approaching the level of instruction I need regarding how to go about organizing physical space. I suppose it's the sort of thing on is expected to pick up naturally, with life experience. The trouble is, my mental wiring prevents me from picking up on these sorts of skills naturally. So, yeah, I'm a major slob, and I really have no clue how to go about changing that.
