I wear glasses for near-sightedness and astigmatism. I cannot tolerate wearing contacts though. They feel strange and I always end up rubbing them out of my eye and/or losing or ripping one of them!

I've worn glasses since 4th grade. I tried wearing contacts for a while as a teenager, but I found them to be too uncomfortable, and even on days when I wore them to school, I took them out as soon as I got home.

I've had glasses since the second grade; I starting wearing contacts in the 5th grade, I think, although I ended up skipping a year. It took me about a week to get the contacts in; once I did it once, however, I could do it again without much problem. I have leave-in contacts now; it's been over a month since I've changed them; I should probably do that this evening. I can't really see whatsoever without them (-7.25 in one eye, and -8.5 with an astigmatism in the other).

I run into walls and other objects even with my glasses on.
I wear glasses, I will never accept contact lenses. However, my glasses sometimes cause sensory issues when they dig into the side of my head.

I started when I was 15. When I was 47 I had surgery, a corneal transplant, to correct a problem with one eye

I'v worn glasses since I was 2. My mom siad I would't go down any stairs and would come "Unglued" if they tried to make me, so she had my eyes checked and I was extreamly near-sighted with bad astigmtism.
I'v worn them my whole life and have learned to like them (When I take them off the whole world turns so fuzzy, it's easier to pretend it's not there, plus Christmas lights look SO cool. Big glowing orbs of light that melds where it overlaps!) My most desired wish when I was a teen was to wake up in the middle of the night and be able to read the alarm clock without holing it up to my face. I'v thought about the surgery but I don't know. No insurance is as factor also. Has anyone had it and what do you think of it?

I used to have 20/20 vision until some time in my mid teens. My eyes have stayed at about 20/40 though I can get blurry vision from my allergies. I go ahead and wear glasses when driving since I test 20/15 with them on. I typically won't wear them otherwise.

I've been wearing them since I started school (at age 5).

I tried contacts but didn't get on with them.

Glasses, but I prefer gas permeable contacts because I see much better with them due to the lens/eye proximity. Been wearing them since I was six or so, and my vision has steadily degraded over the years. Now, it's at roughly -15 diopters in each eye, and that's including the -4 diopters of astigmatism.

Hopefully, I can avoid going blind. :)

I've been wearing glasses for near-sightedness and astigmatism since some time in grade school (maybe third or fourth grade?)

But...all my friends had glasses too, they all got glasses years earlier than I did, and I think they were all more normal than me (in retrospect).

I've never worn contacts because I'm not crazy about putting something on my eyes, or the extra danger, or the expense. Plus the only reason I'd do that would be to be more attractive, and I think the odds of me ever magically finding a woman who's interested in me are zero, so...

I've worn glasses since I was six for an astigmatism. My vision isn't that impaired without glasses, though, which seems to surprise some people.

Measles got mine when I was nine.... in six weeks it left me and four of my friends with double-digit myopia, left another deaf and messed up a kid in the year below mine with fairly serious brain damage from some sort of meningitis like condition.... The next school over (as it were) one of the kids died from it..... anyone not getting their kids immunised for measles shouldn't be allowed to have kids period..... We didn't have easy access to measles jabs when I was that age (mid seventies) and that outbreak was responsible for the general rolling out of measles immunisation programs across the uk..

My brother and I are the only people in the family that DON'T wear glasses... it's very weird...

The even more weird thing is that I've developed an attraction to women who wear glasses...
