how can you say? two examples: being obsessed with stuff helps to achieve things, being single can also be an advantage in a career.

But you'd achieve MORE in less time, wouldn't be confined by your obsessions - and you'd have the natural and rewarding fulfilment of the love of a good woman and your own family.
What's so terrible about that ?

well i don't think that i would achieve more in less time, but i agree about the love. i think i would gladly achieve less in one place with a woman a my own family around. but there is still time for that. anyway, i agree with ghouna, we would have all of that if the world was more understandable and tolerant

Life will teach you that this is not true.
The problems you have are not caused by the world, they are a function and fact of your Aspidity.
The world is only a reflection - a realisation and manifestation of what goes on within you.

if people were more open mind, more aware of difference like AS or other, we "different" people will be more accepted

That's a subjective impression.

I think we both know it goes a little deeper than that.

Let go your faux notions that the world is your problem - it's not a comfort, it only holds you back.

That said, it's no easy thing to do - but once done, opens the mind to more useful truths.

Shoot, maybe you're right - I HAVE been watching too much Oprah !

Ha-ha. Sorry I have to laugh at the part about the love a good woman and your own family. One thing I have learned about life is that "good" people are few and far between and most people are not loving.
Okay. If all of us could find a loving partner and are fortunate to have a good family it might offset some of our problems, that goes for everyone. So many people come from really horrid families, you wouldn't believe it. It's not just people with autism that can have wretched families. It's pandemic. (Hope I got that word right).

If I could have anything I would choose a rewarding career with decent people at work and a good salary over a loving family or spouse.

I don't like the words 'disease' or 'illness' for Asperger's because they imply something that you get at a point in your life ie. are not born with. Maybe this is not the definition of either word, but I prefer 'syndrome' or 'disorder' because I feel they fit more something I was born with and I will always have. But that's just my funny veiw on it.

Disease also implies something that can kill you - which AS certainly can't!

As for whether it's pathological, I say it definitely is. It's diagnosed by a doctor! It causes people a lot of unhappiness - there is nothing nice about finding certain things more difficult, and a lot of Aspies suffer from Depression or Anxiety. Also, people with an ASD become frightened or angry or confused more easily, and those are not pleasant feelings. There are good and neutral things associated with the disorder - fascinations/obsessions, flapping, pedanticness, honesty, 'thinking outside the box'. If the rest goes away and only the neutral/good stuff remains, then it's no longer a disorder. But I don't think that happens very often, if at all.
