No, but I have a feigned interest in them.

And I loved the cars movie and lament that I can't watch it any more - does that count?

I have always loved cars. My parents tell me that my first word was car. I collect Hot Wheels, and often spend a lot of time on car company websites building imaginary cars. One of my favorite places is "Truth About Cars". Someday I hope to buy a Corvette and take museum delivery. You get to pick your car up at the factory/museum in Bolling Green, KY.

I find I also take a similar interest in cell phones. Does anyone think perhaps they are the "new cars"?

I know it's an old thread but what the hell :D

I love cars as well. I'm mostly into exotics but I do enjoy vintage and muscle cars as well.

My dad (autistic with no diagnosis) imbued in me a love of mechanical workings. I never had the option of pursuing my obsessions that cost any money, though. We didn't have that thing.

Edit: I don't have a car obsession right now, but I hope that, someday, I'm going to be able to return to cars and build upon the small amount my dad had the chance to teach me.

I prefer a car with four wheels, an engine that runs, and preferably a steering wheel and a set of working brakes. 8)

All I need is to get where I need to be. Car type comes second. I don't even have an interest in engines. Too many loud auto enthused NT's ruined any interest I had in engines.

I have been to the corvette museum in Bowling Green. it is fantastic!

I am absolutely in love with cars and other machinery (semi-trucks, ships, trains, tractors etc). i am facinated with how all the little parts come together to produce something that is more than the sum of it's parts. Driving is a visceral experence. So exciting. I get excited just hearing the exhaust note of a nice tuned automobile. Like the V-10 in the audi s8. It just causes emotions i can not put in words.

I'm not sure if they have tractor pulls in other places but here in the US on a TV channel called RFD they have tractor pulls and the unlimited-modified division lets you run like 5 huge methanol run v-8's. It bogles the mind how they combine all that horsepower into 1 transmission. The engineering is awe-inspiring.

My mom is of the opinion that it just gets you from point a to point b, but a car is more than just that. It speaks to you in a way no other mechanical device can. It can bring joy or pain. It is more than mere transport it is intricate art with the ability to create rich emotions in you as a driver.

I photograph them for Flickr.com. I'm more of a truck guy than a car guy. I'm primarily into Ford trucks from the 90s and before, since I find them to have more classy style. I'm hoping to get myself an 80's-90's Ford Bronco or pickup sometime in the future, and that will happen when my old Explorer dies (which in its condition is quite a long way away).

I love cars and love driving. I currently own a 2009 Ford XR6. Here is a picture of it sitting on the showroom floor the day I picked it up....

They get me where I need to go. Some people say I drive like a grandma, but I try to drive safely, where many others treat cars like toys, so I'll take that label.

I agree - we are very lucky to have such great cars in Australia. The Fords, Toyotas and - as much as I hate to admit it - Holdens are all really good looking machines.
