I think they should have an aspie female on the show...likesay one of the jocko stud 90210 guys falls inexplicably and madly in love with an aspie girl...so he is is always dragging around this poor akward girl around who does not fit in with all the 90210 girls....and they act weird towards her and treat her like an outcast...resulting in drama...blah blah...

I guess the genders could be reversed....

lol who me?

 i was referring to myself....but I was joking...

I guess we have a lot in common then

Do you call yourself Lioness because you are a Leo? (i am a leo)

I also recall you saying you have short wide feet in the morton's toe thread...

so do I...as I mentioned..

As a matter of fact I am a Leo, (Taurus Moon and Sagittarius Ascendent) and I have been through a lot, so the fact that I am still standing says a lot. And yeah my feet are short and wide...

Yep, I didn't watch America's Next Top Model but from the sounds of it, that is what happened on the show last year with the Aspie girl.

...and since you are 33, you must also be year of the Rabbit...I am Leo Sun Aquarius Moon Gemini ascendant..(August 20 1975)

I watched part of the America's top model stuff...and those girls were piranahs....

I was also deriving from my own silly experiences of getting dragged out to largely NT-stylegatherings where I am the weird one who none of the other adults talk to. It happened this weekend, and it has happened numerous times in the past, and I think it would be a funny dynamic to see in the context of a tv show.

Yep year of the Rabbit, 7/30/1975. I didn't watch the show but I heard they were brutal. I haven't had too many experiences like that so much lately but as a kid, holy smokes!

For some reason, many NTs find watching an aspie just trying to live their life and doing the normal things they take for granted endlessly hilarious. "Look! Let's watch the aspie guy try to flirt!" "Look! Let's watch the aspie guy try to order an Egg McMuffin!" I have doubts a popular TV drama would try to cast an aspie in a sensitive, uplifting light; I'd expect grossly misinformed and simplistic stereotypes from Hollywood (not to be stereotyping Hollywood).

90210 Aspie:
Interests:
Bus schedules
Trainspotting
Brainy science/math crap
Appearance:
Wearing big, thick glasses all the time
Pocket protectors falling out of every pocket
Pants pulled up to armpits like Urkel
Personality:
Annoyingly spews out unasked-for facts about obscure things
Weird, stammering voice with random shifts in inflection and volume
Spits as speaks
"Brainiac"
Geeky
Socially awkward
Refers to everyone's mother as "a hottie" for lulz purposes

Folks, just say no to the anti-aspie propaganda.

I watched a marathon of it...I would turn my attention away from the TV and do something on the computer while they weren't showing Heather...those other girls were just annoying, with their typical reality TV blah blah drama

Other than "The Biggest Loser", I have no time and patience for reality shows. I admit I watched "Fear Factor" when it was on. The only reason I like "The Biggest Loser" is because I know how frustrating it is to lose weight. So in some ways I can relate.

Just saw the ASD guy tonight. Seems like your standard Rain Man, and the other characters are pretty condescending to him.

I knew they'd misconstrue Our People.

I feel embarrassed for the auttie/aspie who naïvely thought this would be a chance for a little fame and a chance to raise awareness about autism/Asperger's syndrome.

Is there a link to a clip on YouTube or anywhere like that?

He's the brother of one of the main characters(Ethan). Ethan has to call his ex-girlfriend over because his brother's having a minor meltdown over the furniture being rearranged. She comes over, both of them start talking to the guy like he's ret*d:
Ethan's brother: The furniture's wrong!
Ethan: Look! Naomi came all this way JUST to see YOU!!
Naomi: Yeah- so let's make some popcorn, okay?
Ethan's brother: ...I like popcorn.

Ugh I am disappointed just from hearing this so far, doesn't exactly help water down the stereotype.. But I can't say I am all that surprised either that they would do this.
