I see a year as a circle, divided up into different coloured sections for the seasons (each of which is shaded differently at the beginning and end). Summer is at the bottom of the circle, with winter at the top. Apparently lots of synesthetes see years in a similar fashion.

This is a form of synesthesia? I didn't know that. I just replied to another thread saying that I don't have synesthesia, but I always see words/numbers (along with images) when they are said, like a script running across my field of vision, so I guess I might have a form of synesthesia? I consider myself to be one who "thinks in pictures," because, even though I think half in words and half in images, all of the words that I think are spelled out in my head.

Interesting what Kelsi said about the division of seasons. I don't envision a year as a circle, but rather, a sort of stepladder, where all of the months of the calendar descend in a staircase fashion down my train of thought. Colors are associated with the different months, too, usually the colors of the birthstones of that month (I had a "special interest" in gemstones/birthstones when I was younger) or something of that nature. I also see the letters of the alphabet in a particular staircase fashion, too, that is similar to the one for the months of the year.

I also envision days of the week in this way, and the days have a specific color associated with them. However, my week is in ascending order, not descending order. Monday is at the bottom, and the week reaches a steady incline until Friday, at which point, there's a dropoff for Saturday, and Sunday's at the very bottom, like it's in a bottomless pit or something.

I didn't used to see numbers but I have as of late. A couple of days ago I saw 43 whenever I closed my eyes for a while. It wasn't light from anything either, I saw as clearly as if I were looking at it with my eyes open. Another time I had quite possibly the worst stomach cramp I have ever had and I could see what number my pain represented on a scale from 1 to 10. It peaked at 25 but averaged 14. Okay so maybe it went beyond 10 but I would have said it was 25 on that scale. :?

I see words when they are spoken, by me or someone else, and also when I think.

When the word for a month is spoken (or thought), the visual representation of the word will "bloom" into a multi-sensory experience, usually involving temperature and smell, and sometimes light. June is bright, smells like sunshine and fresh air, and feels warm. August is always dark and smells like heavy rain. January smells like dirty snow and feels like wet mittens. Etc., etc.
