have voted for PETA,but dont really know the others/what they do so couldnt vote for them, the 'milk' thing from PETA was completely stupid, they should not use animals name in their stupid lies they come up with, neither parents who have no idea about autism and think their kids will get it from milk.

Actually, it is deniable since she never claimed that vaccinations were the only cause of her sons' autism. She merely theorizes that the vaccines may have exacerbated his existing condition. Further, she only cautions parents in abjectly allowing a doctor to administer the vaccines without additional testing to measure the potential effect on a child.
You need to read the books before you go spouting lies about them.

The foreword of the first book I found ... disconcerting. (EDIT: I haven't read the second book. Don't intend to.) And a few other points in it towards the end. But I don't think the book was the big problem in itself. It was when she opened her trap after the book, her spokesperson job and promotion tour and her evaluations of what her experiences she detailed in the book were and how she handled things. Just for the danger to the general public from her "anti-vax" stuff alone is why she got my vote. Savage was a close second for me for encouraging attitudes that lead can lead to abuse.

P.S. I assume the book was ghost written?

If that was an option on the poll I'd give them serious consideration. Certainly if they managed to grab a serious amount of media attention (and that's what this poll is about) I suspect they'd be a shoo in. :(

Um, I really think you could have added more to the list.

Like John Best, Tanja Koch, or David Kirby.

I voted for Jenny. Like DwightF said, it wasn't the book I took issue with. It was her tour afterwards. I watched her on Oprah hoping she'd point out some of the well known things that can help kids.

What did I get instead, after that? Some I told D had Autism (before I knew I had, or my younger son had) asked me if I had tried the GFCF diet. I had others say "Do you think it's because of the vaccines?" And even more who assumed they knew what Autism was like to a family because they saw Jenny on Oprah or Larry King.

Sorry, I've seen the parents who follow this crap. I see how they talk about their children, not as children, but as a disability. She was far more damaging than anything else this year.

Yeah, agreed. I see a lot of NT hating around here.

To answer the poll, though; Savage took a small minority of autistics and made the generalization that all autistics were like such. McCarthy is just delusional. PETA, however, took false information and put it to work for them. Even if autism was the scapegoat for their anti-cow milk campaign, the message was clear that autism is a bad thing. Have you seen the billboard? Frowny face. My vote goes to PETA.

I voted for Jenny McCarthy. Not because of her blaming vaccinations (I didn't know she did that), but because of her psychotic, self-congratualtory, messianic complex that she saved her poor kid from Autism. Seeing her in her interviews, patting herself on the back and proclaiming how great she is with that manic glint in her eye, just really doesn't sit well with me.

And you don't have a poll option for that crazy woman on FaceBook that claims all Autistic and Asperger's men are rapists because we think women are food processors.

If you vote here, dont vote on youtube. I'm doing it on two sites to keep it a secret to who's winning.

I'm not doing a This Week In Autism episode on friday... Why? CAUSE THERE"S NOT BIG NEWS ON AUTISM!! ! so i'll do this for now...

PETA: It happened in the early fall, PETA decided to post the results of a fake study they conducted that "concluded" that cow milk was linked to autism. They launched this "Got Autism" campaign to exploit Autism Activism to spread more of their anti-cow milk propaganda.

Michael Savage: Mr. Savage is nortorious for blasting the gays, the muslims, the jews, and any other person who isnt a white catholic, but back in July he went over board with his bs comments on autism saying how its all a fraud and how we're just a bunch of brats who havent been told to cut the act. His deticated Savagelins (fanboys) actually bought this and spread it to this day. Don Imus cant make one sexist-racist comment without being thrown off the airwaves while Savage makes homophobic, anti-semetic, anti-islamic, and NOW anti-autistic comments and still remains on the airwaves.

Jenny McCarthy: Claims she has found the cure to autism and puts it in her books. Spreads the bs theory that vaccines are the full cause and runs a group to stop them putting many kids into harms way of deadly diseases. GREAT! First she scams parents by giving them a false hope on autism cures, then she kills their kids by taking away their vaccines!

VOTE NOW!

And what did I do?

All I've done is point out the historical truth about what the word "autism" really means......and all you do is ignore me!

PETA: A bunch of zoophiliacs who engage in beastiality but think it's wrong to eat animals...to LITERALLY eat animals.

Michael Savage: A moronic ultra-conservative who thinks everyone who isn't a straight, white, christian (even though he's a jew), NT male is evil. His original last name is "Weiner", what does that tell you?

Jenny McCarthy: A dumb, brainless bimbo who likes to write that mercury causes autism, yet she is probably brain-damaged from all the silicone.

I think Savage is a "savage", for what he said and should be off the air "forever".
PETA is in all due respect needs to do some research .
Jenny McCarthy is a concerned mother who my still be blaming herself .

Let me get this straight... An organization, that CLAIMS to help animals, is trying to stop an action, that helps LOTS of animals, by claiming that it causes AUTISM????? If THAT isn't enough, that action has been done for over 100 YEARS! MAN, the stupidity. Michael savage simply doesn't see things objectively.

I very much doubt if I will cast a vote, the reason is that so many candidates exist and some of the best ones are not listed. I will not list the dreadful persons who should be considered for this award.

The first two at least, though, have gotten hardly any media attention, and very few people take them seriously (and yes some people do take them seriously, but that doesn't make them the be-all end-all evil to the autism world). Yes they should be contained and combatted and rebutted, but not elevated to a status of Big Bad Evil Bad Guy.
