I'm at that dangerous stage in life where my ambitions are constrained by my diminishing physical abilities! This year I want to do some kind of longish journey on foot, hopefully supported, maybe 30-50 miles. Currently identifying possible candidate routes. Other things: learn the name of every plant, animal, and rock in my favorite canyon, double the size of my veggie garden and include some rare and exotic plants (and learn new recipes to include them), continue my research and maybe write a book on the local traces of the last Ice Age, make a short video on that subject. Also continue the job of thinning my worldly possessions by finding loving homes for the good currently unused stuff and tossing the crap. And keep practicing my archery.

Anna I am also an archer and think the skill will actually come in handy some day. I don't know what your disability is but I've made special offroad wheel chairs for friends so I could take them into the wilderness. Nothing is imposible nowadays and I admire anybody with the skill of gardening. It's becoming a lost art.

Personally I'd like to do the following in no particular order:

Start a programming company with the specific intention of hiring programmers with AS who have been having the kind of job difficulties I've been having.

Get a CS degree (I'm hoping to either CLEP out of a bunch and/or use work experience to fill in a lot of the required credits to reduce the amount of work I have to actually do to get the degree, since I already know that I'm more experienced than most of the degreed guys I've worked around.)

Go to Burning Man. :D

I like the part about 'complex thought' and now I'm thinking about sex which to me seems complex so whose to know these things but I think you're on the same train as most of us.

I have no long term goals. My only short-term goal is how I'll deal with being forced out of my job in a year-and-a-bit's time. :(

Oh, yeah, I'd like to go to Burning Man to see what all the fuss is about. I suspect I'd be repelled, but hey. :)

Move to a house that isn't falling apart.
Grow a nice garden.
Watch my kids live happy healthy lives.
Write down all my recipes.

Printing, binding and marketing all of these books.

Moving to a remote location with a very large building, and fiber optic.

Adding to my machine collection.

Find artists, web designers, software programers who will not talk to me or look at me.

Becoming very rich and unknown.

Finish my motorcycle, get a license plate,

I can identify about the license plate deal. Ride the crap out of that baby screaming at the top of your lungs as you go unprotected hurling down the road at speeds that seem insane to normal people. We humans have such simple entertainment compared to chimps.

Gary, I've always thought that offroad wheelchairs should exist--I'm glad you are making them real. My disability is just that my one-time goal of running a hundred miler has evaporated, due to the reality that I could not make the cutoffs. But I can walk my own "event" without worrying about a time limit. Takes a bit more discipline to be my own race director. I'm a fan of survival skills and archery (I might try bow-fishing) and gardening sort of fit in. Who knows when mankind will need someone who can really reinvent the wheel!

I don't think that your alone out there in your thinking. maybe you can come up with something as a special project for others who share your interests, I'm interested to help if needed.

I want to eat pie. :P

Actually I want to open up another gallery, hopefully not focused on my concert photography, but more an awareness for autism and I want to write a book or screenplay.

I see we have a few "Whole Earth Catalog" fans in this thread...
As for cars read Ivan Illych "Energy And Equity" a real eye opener.
