We could all go nude (though I suspect that would be incredibly awkward and maybe even too cold depending on where and when we would meet).

Togas? We could wear togas made outta bedsheets and paint our names onto 'em! (I've never been to a toga party before.)

A toga party sounds cool. Or we could just wear our existing clothes? And that way conversation would be started for us because we could ask "Who are you?" to everyone and hope that it evolves from there.
If it's a party you need invites.

We could make impermanent tatoos of our avatars and stick 'em on our foreheads!

that's actually a good idea, but I wonder what would happen to people with sensetive skin? Have to be allergy free tattoos
Alternately we could make it a guessing kind of thing, how about everyone dresses or has something on them that gives clues to either their name/avatar or both. It would make it interesting guessing.. you could have a prize for the most artful way of presenting clues.

Seriously, we probably should accomodate with t-shirts, nametags, and hats. Anyone who doesn't want to wear a tag can just go without.

I am one yahoo. I get bored with my avatar and change it on a regular basis. If they had pic sig line I'd have a pic there. Oh well!! I don't know how to identify me then. My name on here in nice big letters on a t-shirt, I guess.

Actually, my choice would be the hat. I am almost never without one (another reason I look so young; not a lot of sun exposure).
