I do not in any way mean to make light of your post but regular normal people have had the same experiences with violence that you have just recounted so I don't think your autism is the reason you were beaten or otherwise mistreated in life. Many of my perfectly normal NT friends suffered far more abuse and mistreatment in school than I did so I do have have a lot of sympathy for autistics who are in the 'woe is me' mode since 'life' is not smart enough to differentiate between us all.

I am pretty sure my 'hobbies', social skills, and isolation had something to do with it. I'm obviously not denying that NTs suffer violence. Not every person who is different has a disability, but all people who have a disability are different, you can't deny that. If they weren't different they wouldn't have a diagnosis. They still have a disability that makes them different. It is by the very nature of their ability (or lack of) to cope in real life that lead to the term DISABILITY. They would have never sought a DX if they were so 'able'. I'm well aware that the original poster is using a holistic humanitarian philosophy to make people feel better about their condition, however you spin it you cannot escape reality. I tend to have no sympathy for people who are hypocrites and have no compassion for others in a similar situation. If you want to make thinly veiled attempts to insult me rather then discuss the issue I think that you've already lost. Have a nice day.
