Chef for 20 years, really bad occupation for AS especially A La Carte, I much prefered big functions. I had a varied career Most prestigious job = Head Chef Reserve bank of Australia, Most Prestigious customer = Her Maj, Most interesting (and socially challenging) = ships cook "Rainbow Warrior"

The meltdowns were nuts. The best thing about this career I could have a meltdown, walk out and get a new job all in one afternoon

Now I am self employed cleaning the exterior of houses. Pressure washing, window cleaning etc and LOVING IT. Great money and no work politics or social misunderstandings 8)

I'm primarily a student. I work as a web developer and sysadmin for spending money, though.

I am a civil engineer, but right now i am studying for a phd. I also struggle to convince professors that when i get bad grades, the reason is not that i don't undrestand the subject, it's just that i am getting lost in details that the rest of the class overlooks.

i work for myself from my home as a contractor.
i am a systems designer/programmer/"data processor" for a few companies.

typically, a company will have access to loads of incompatible data from different sources, and a business plan that they wish to use the data for.

i am tasked with designing a system that will be able to import and standardize all the data and produce electronic reports that will facilitate their business plan. if they like my design, then i am tasked with programming that design.
often i am also tasked with running that program on my home computers on their behalf (data processing house), and producing reports that they need from it. (they like me to run the system as they do not trust their employee's efficiency much).
so i get paid lots (one off payment) for the design and programming, and then i charge a processing fee (about $3000 per month) for every system i run at home. it is easy to run the systems at home as they are all automatic, and do not require much attention from me.

i also play in the stock market, but it is a dry and barren land there at the moment, so i have frozen my activity and have not sold anything for 2 years. i am not going to realize the loss i currently am seeing in my stocks. i may start buying soon i think (because there are amazing bargains everywhere), but selling is a long way off.

Don't get me started...

I work as a volunteer.

Being forced on social welfare and having to pay public transportation, I end up with a sweeping 65 USD/46 pound a week for working 8 hours for 5 days in a week, every week.

And that in a job that autistic people usually find hard to do.

Work is fun though, but the payment is crap.
